Why don’t they just tell all the kids “There’s a regulation skirt, and some regulation pants–pick the one you like and stick with it.”

We had boys and girls uniforms when I was seven, and at that age nobody could even tell if you were wearing the wrong one. Why does it matter?

  When I was in a UK school long ago there was an equal school uniform policy stateing that girls and boys can wear the uniform of their choice and the school acepted it, the policy was only used by the girls when winter came along they would change to pants and in summer they would change to skirts, not once did any boys choose to wear a skirt.
