Saw "Legend of Lyon: Flare 1 and 2" there, but not the stuff from the imported and translated/adapted horribly "Gonad the Barbarian" stuff... Not that there wasn't a lot of interesting shows, but I'd fear today importing half of it to AmeriKKKa would get you busted as if you were a pedo importing real Party Van... And I'm not calling half of it "Pedo" stuff, though some obviously is (the old man grabbing the little girl at the playground) just that they used a lot more "SD" and mix-related stuff.

i can appreciate the hentai classics for their contribution to the genre but they just don't do it for me in terms of FAP factor. now, in terms of story there were some serious contenders that came out before the turn of the century. urotsukidoji freaking blew my mind the first time i saw it. i wish the hentai of today tried a little harder to tell a story worth investing in. after all, it's anime - not just pr0nz.

I own almost all of Cream Lemon on laserdisc, and have scanned most of the jackets. I still need to scan some of the specials. I own them, but nowhere on the jacket or disc do the words "Cream Lemon" appear, so I didn't know they were considered part of the series until recently.

I've never seen 80's hentai or loli stuff before and watching this makes me feel sad that I haven't. I like the character design from the 80's though. Just something about it.

Bear in mind that a lot of the earliest ones were fan-made/independent doujin anime originally (as no normal distributor would have been interested in producing it yet). Even Cream Lemon grew out of independent work, although many well-known animators worked on several episodes once it got rolling (Moriyama Yuji, Anno Hideaki, Hirano Toshiki--formerly Toshihiro, others) as it progressed. So some works are particularly amateurish looking, because they are in fact the work of amateur animators.

It doesn't help that whoever put this compilation together not only avoided the sex/nudity (where most of the best art was of course), but seems to have gone out of their way to pick less-than-memorable scenes from some of them. Meh...

I'm sort of glad I was too busy working and just didn't discover anime from that era. Bit too rough, unrefined. Heck I have troubles liking stuff from the mid 90s.

I don't mind 80s porn though, I don't like women to shave. Back then swimsuits still covered plenty of the woman, so shaving wasn't vital.
