Goojje

China’s unique grasp of intellectual property arises once again with “Goojje.”

Doubtless any resemblances to Google are coincidental or the result of foreign copycats stealing Chinese ideas.

Goojje (via Heaven).

I am presuming Artefact knows this full well and is trolling for the lulz as usual but to see so many srs faces, spittle flying and out for Gook blood is ...

    lulz worthy I guess.

You should also point out the irony of Goojje issuing press release to urge Google to stay to operate in China, as it "sees" Google as its older brother.

It takes a new kind of fail to be as epic fail as this. When will China stop copying others and be original and come up with something the country can be proud of?

Its so hypocritical that everyone is praising China for being the 2nd largest economy, for grabbing so many gold medals, for HOSTING the Olympics. But don't forget its the country that persecutes ethnic minorities, its the country ruled by communism, its the country that executes people for exercising their right to freedom of speech. Oh yeah, its the country where half built buildings collapse and bridges are made of styrofoam.

Everyone's saying that China will become a world leader. I'd lament the day that that happens.

Probably not, if China does ever decide to copy SanCon. "Sankaku" is Japanese for "triangle," hence the logo.

And if they did copy SanCon, as I forgot to mention, it would probably be called something along the lines of "Mikaku Complex" (because "mi" and "san" both mean "three," as in three-sided, as in triangle).

In actuality Sankaku Complex is more Anti-Japan News.
Because in terms quantity there are more FAIL-ARTICLES about Japan here than any other country that is featured. For example, the stolen loli panties being the most recent i remember.

You only think its anti-china because when china fails its on a different level. While few the quality of fail is unmatched. Like...

    I need to say something..
If you understand chinese young people and chinese internet culture, you will know it is just a joke.
    O(∩_∩)O
The sentence below the ICON "goojje" comes from chinese internet users' attitudes to their government's behavior.
A few days ago,the government had been in contradiction with google. And "Google China" said that they want to leave china.
So,chinese internet users find their ways to giving their own points of view:they need "google".

    btw
The buttons' meaning comes from other interesting story! :P
One day, somebody uploaded his own pic in the biggest bbs, then left some words "What i eated is not noodles but loneliness".
It spreads quickly. So some internet users call him "the lonely brother".And his words "What i eated is not noodles but loneliness" become the most popular words in chinese internet.
ps:the second button just means "drop your loneliness"

Though the site looks like a cross between Google and Baidu, its intent is actually a plea for Google not to leave China.

The words under Goojje is saying sister is very happy when brother gave up the thought of leaving and stayed for sister.

By playing around with the wording, jje sounds like sister and gle sounds like brother.

That's actually not that far fetched. Last I heard, the women in China are vastly out-numbered by men.

Which means there'll be a whole bunch of lonely guys without a mate very VERY soon. The Chinese government can either:

    1. Ignore the people and risk being overthrown
    2. Invade another country for their resources (women among other things)
    3. Work on cloning the perfect women for very lonely guy
    4. *Spend* its people (more death penalties, war skirmishes, genocide, etc)

It is more accurate to say China lent America money. Lots and lots of money. With a federal deficit of 1.35 trillion, that's $4,500 owing from each American (all 300 million of them).

With no visible plan to trim the national debt, it'll be one ugly day when the main creditor China decides it's time to pay up. The economic recession in 2009 will look like a rocky mountain camp trip in comparison.

At this point, it might be easier to list things China HASN'T ripped off.

Do they have a state-sponsored Wikipedia yet? If not, they should. It would be a fun read. maybe call it Wokpedia or something.

It's actually an intentional spoof instead of a true copy-cat or disrespect of intellectual property (at least this time):

    http://blogs.wsj.com/chinarealtime/2010/01/29/in-china-imitation-is-the-sincerest-form-of-flattering-google/

    http://shanghaiist.com/2010/01/28/googles_shanzhai_sister_goojje_pops.php

While Reuters article says that "Goojje began vying with Google on January 14," but it's pretty obvious from the page layouts and the site's manifesto (of sorts) that it has no plans really to vie with anyone. We'd pin it as more of an elaborate performance art piece.

Says the front page of the site, placed right after a list of "hot topics" that include stuff like "Goojje mentioned in foreign news" and "How Goojje appears on brother Baidu and Google," is this statement:

Goojje was born for peace, this internet world has become harmonious because of Goojje's appearance, with Goojje the brothers won't be lonely.

That last bit might make a bit more sense if you're familiar with Chinese internet memes.
