Legendary seiyuu Daisuke Gōri (郷里大輔) has died under circumstances police consider likely to be suicide. He was 57.
According to police and witnesses, he was found dead on his back on a Nakano Ward street in Tokyo at 3PM.
He had apparently slit his wrists. A knife was found underneath the body, and police also recovered a note; they are treating the death as a suicide.
Gōri, born 1952, was known for hundreds of voice acting roles in anime, movies and games, notably Gundam, Fist of the North Star, Kinniku Man and Dragonball Z. Some of his most recent roles were in One Piece, Doraemon and Slayers; he was active throughout 2009.

He really doesn't have many starring or big name roles going through that list.
A lot are "roles" there sum up to 1-10 lines max like slayers.
Video game ones like Heihachi probably had the most lines. Although to be fair a lot of those series are for kids like pokemon/one piece and I have zero fucking idea about those ones.

Suicide is a choice that many would call cowardly.... I tend to agree, but I've never considered it. My love for my family, friends, video games, good music, good drink, good food, and other things; prevent me from thinking this way. If I was broke, I had no family and no friends; maybe I'd feel that way. No one chooses to be born, but unfortunately we all have the choice to die. I enjoyed many of his characters, and I'll miss him. May he find peace in the oblivion he sought.
RIP. It is sad to see this always as it is. Someone who participated in so many different series as a voice actor and who had an impact on the show series themselves enough to be hired to do another one. Maybe the older VAs need fan clubs like the cute young ones have so they can see the watchers of the shows heard them so whatever else is getting them really down won't have such a bad impact as to result in this type of ending.

Even if he wanted to suicide he wouldn't do it outdoor. As a famous seiyuu, if anyone sees him with a knife it would be weird and people might actually stop him from suicide..
