New Code Geass Anime Announced

The “new project” Bandai recently announced has been confirmed as being a full anime project promising a “new birth,” much to the delight of the many fans of the series.
Tempering fan enthusiasm is uncertainty over the release schedule (it is not clear whether it will actually be released in 2010), and more importantly over the direction the story is likely to take considering the conclusive events of the anime.
Fans ponder whether the project will take the form of an Evangelion-style alternative remake, a purely character-based spinoff, or another narrative somehow fitting into the events of the original, or even rewriting it.

Did we really need another Geass? The second season was a mess with no direction, and even though it was entertaining, I was glad they finally decided to give it a conclusion. The new anime is just going to be even messier with more convoluted twists and turns.
Hmm, interesting. Seeing how CLAMP pretty much recycles some of their characters and puts em in a different world. ie Mokona from the Magic Knight Rayearth. Wonder how they will develop this. Last scene of the series is a left of a cliffhanger. Let us see how will this play out.
You will see: In 22 years or so we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Code Geass! GO SUNRISE, way to create a new Gundam-like franchise you know it will bring the big bucks!!!
I want it to be set after R2 but with only an appearance from Lelouch and CC as imortals.

Lelouch vi Britania was dead, to be honest he is dead if he did become and imortal he now will have a 2 letter name, he is no longer lelouch vi britania.

Anyways, if we do have an R3, I wouldn't mind seeing the protagonist bringing down Zero's empire/w/e peace we have at end of R2. False peace is false.
And we have a rebellion, HOWEVER, the protagonist should be a follower rising through the ranks to become a leader. And black Knights would be Britannia's elite guard and antagonists to protagonist.
Then, have a geass battle between the Lelouch (if alive) and the main hero for finale.

Considering the drama revolving around Lelouchs' reincarnation, I'm actually hoping for a side story rather than a continuation. The series ended quite well for me with no serious concerns over another sequel.

But there were some things left open.

Newtype (=Kadokawa) paired a statement from Kawaguchi (CG's producer, as in "not the writer") in which he says that "he would like to announce a new anime project soon" with unrelated art featuring both a living character (Suzaku) and an officially, canonically dead character (Lelouch) and this is enough for people to shit their pants in excitement and start believing that a new project has been confirmed?
Sure, something's on the way though. Lelouch's birthday event (including the live humorous picture drama in which dead Lelouch returns to Ashford as a ghost to fight off Chinese terrorists only to once more fade out of existence in the end) will be released on DVD and BD this April.

This one started quite good, but after some eps it became somewhat retarded. Death Note is another example. In the meantime a new anime about Berserk was rejected. People are really retarded.

It should be a prequel not a remake or sequel O_O I'd like to see more of the war and more details of lelouch's past, and have everything fully explained right up until the initial series begins...I don't see any other way of doing it since it ended so well and was amazingly done as is.

alternative timeline would be hard i think, a lot of people that are already fans of the series already have quite a few ideas on how code geass is already. if they went and changed it up then i personally think it wouldn't fly over that well.
take full metal alchemist brotherhood, newer fans to the franchise love it as well as some of the older fans but there are just as many fans of the older series that don't really agree with it.
either way i myself look forward to what bandai will do with the series from here, will they continue where R2 left off or will they try something else

They seem to have skipped and made up a lot of the story in the first batch. So now they are following manga(aka original storyline) and more or less "skipped" the original bit they put into first anime.
That is at least my understanding. Looking forward to more news about CG. Zero's outfit kinda look even more gayer (battle-able) then before.

Well, R2's story wasn't the most well thought out if you think about it. The whole thing came together in like... the last 3 episodes, and it's hard to see any of the previous plot events to be of any relevance.
I'll love to see alternative reality. What were Lelouch's plans without the Geass? What if Clovis didn't die and the first 2 episodes didn't occur (new Geasses [maybe like the manga's] as a result of the experiments)?
I always thought of there being a massive civil war because Charles realizes that Schnitzel (sp?) and Clovis are keeping C2, resulting in Schnitzel defecting to the EU and Clovis fighting for Japan. Meanwhile Lelouch could reveal himself and team up with them, or just start the Black Knights within the chaos.
Or they could just have changes in between the stories, like what if Lelouch didn't Geass Euphemia, what if the first Black Rebellion was successful, etc.
Guess what? it's gonna be movie compilation with R2 alternative ending.
I think a lot of people would accept an alternate timeline, mainly because R2 was so goddamn stupid and lots of people wouldn't mind seeing it never happen.

We know the basics of Geass use and Code transmission but we have no idea what it is and more importantly who made the system and for what purpose. THAT i would like to see made into a new season.
