I actually noticed this during the Kannagi airing, and saw resemblances on K-On.

As much as I like the animation style, i hope A-1 Pictures does not stay with this style for every new thing they do. :\ K-ON was great, Kannagi was awesome, but i don't think i wanna keep seeing the same thing over and over. AIR/Kanon/Clannad was enough.

I smell a law suit coming for A1 from Kyoto Animation.

There is one difference between the two shows, art-wise. The Sora no Woto eyes are drawn slghtly different from the K-On girls, SnW eyes have more crescent shaped irises while K-on irises are thicker and more rounded.

It's by the same studio that made Kannagi, if anything it'd be a ripoff from that.

Not a big deal either way, as long as the story is good.

A similar as trigun and berserk Id say, that is, just slightly similar.

It's not essentially a moeblob style but k-on face imitation style(the rest of their bodies aren't in the same style). The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was moe and it didn't look anything like this(until the second season of course).

Anyway its the character style design just like Hisashi Hirai and his character designs which looks pretty similar even in different anime. (Gundam Seed, Infinite Ryvius, Fafner etc.)

The original manga is quite the same.

What's with all the moe-haters ever since K-On! came out.....I mean, it's a successful anime that served it's purpose beautifully. it wasnt trying to be "deep", or meaningful or shit, it's supposed to overload you with moe, and it did an insanely good job at it.

As a former soldier I would have loved to share a foxhole with any of those girls. Maybe, I would have reenlisted if I could have came on the job instead of having to leave the base to get some.

I'm sad. The art was so nice and now it's moe blobbed. I mean nothing against it but the other was much better.

Since K-ON! strabismus is not counted as error anymore, the characters look like they need eye sugery and the whole style is a anatomic failure at the faces.

I can't even take the show seriously anymore...not even the manga....

And the Moe boom keeps on going....now to see how big this show will get.

I have the feeling the K-On! style is probably easy to copy. It's not bad though, in my opinion. Although I'd like to see some preservation of variety.

Have seen that many times. Damn, Moe still wins but ... thats nearly a copy.. or it IS the style.

hooo... very similar indeed. Well I really don't care much if the art style is similar to K-On or Kannagi as long as the story is interesting. If it's something like K-On too story wise then meh... K-On simply just didn't appeal to me. =/

I have no idea what the series is about, but the moe style girls placed in the military looking uniforms creates a very.. odd.. combination.

Cannot be blamed, if you change the style it might not please the fans, this is good at what it is.

Didn't Kannagi came up with the art style first before K-On? I thought KyoAni copied off of Kannagi art style with some minor tweaks.

Does the art style really matter, as long as the show is enjoyable everything should be fine :P

The studio is just practicing for the photoshopping of the cosplayers they will do next. They are so good they can make a guy in a ronald mc donald suit look like the girl on neon genesis evangelion show.
On another view, remember how Clamp re-uses characters and makes new stories with the characters having the same name? This may be as close as these studios can get to doing that as well. They do look the same.
