Kyoto Animation’s hit musical moe-blob anime K-ON! is apparently due a second season, not an entirely surprising development.
The announcement comes by way of those attending a recent K-ON! event, “Live,” which presumably means a full official announcement will not be long in coming.

it is a slice of life comedy with extreme moeness, not a pure moe. wtf is pure moe anyway? there's no way a show can be constructed with moeness only. a show must have something to keep the storyboard rolling, be it comedy, drama, or whatever. if there is such pure moe genre, then it will be just like a photoshoot session of a gravure idol. and we both know k-on isn't like that.
i'm a big fan of haruhi too and yeah kyoani ruined the 2nd season. but there's no connection with k-on and i'm sure you know that already. seems like the disappearance movie to is directed seriously. so don't fret so much and let's look forward to it.

Im a Guitar lover and a fan of the goddamn nice Gibson Les Paul Yui is playing on. The only thing that annoyed me about K-ON is that the animators were often too lazy to fully animate the playing scenes, probably because they could not get that many model plays. Many times when one of the Girls had to show some solos or when they have play'd together, you get to see some goddamn teacups or a chair WTF!
Lucky Star was notorious for being about nothing...Until I watched this.

The previous post about the high sales of the dark knight and bakemonogatari DVDs improved my opinion of Japan but this bring it down again.
It should stay as one single season. KyoAni is a notorious 2nd season developer.
I enjoyed the first season. It wasn't OMG AMAZING! But it wasn't god awful either. But since it and anything relating to it sold like no ones business it's not surprised that a second season being made.
KyoAni isn't stupid they know they gotta churn the K-ON shit out while people are still willing to throw all their money at them for anything having to do with K-ON.

This is great. I think they will continue from where they left off with kakifly's plotline. I would love to see them incorporate some recording and production and even some touring, alongside the manga plot.
But if they want to play it safe like they did with the first season, got no problems with that.

Why is it a cheap way? KyoAni could choose to adapt or continue many other series as opposed to K-ON. They could even choose Lucky Star. But, KyoAni's decision to go with K-ON implies that they want to take advantage of the K-ON 'moe moe kyun' hysteria while it's still well and alive. K-ON's DVD sales proved to be profitable. So, you can conclude, right?

Except Full Metal Panic Fumoffu & Second Raid is one of Kyoto Animation's series that they animated. They've also put a bunch of FMP references in Lucky Star and Haruhi.

To me this anime tries to be cute but fails at it, it was fun for a couple of minutes though
u have to admit that no other studio is capable of making such simple 4koma comedy into a popular hit. don't say it is because of moe coz there are many moe shows with much more fanservice scenes, and none of them made it this success. this kind of show is one of kyo ani's talent.
no rewatch value? but, of course, duh. it's a comedy, duh. who would want to hear the same jokes over and over again, duh.
characters and their daily activities are dumb indeed. but shallow? this show is one of few shows where we got to know so many sides of each character, though that is mostly for the purpose of joking around.
The problem I have with this show is that it's HUGELY below par for Kyo-Ani, has no rewatch value and the characters are shallow as fuck.
