For me, most of the fun in RPGs is the exploring, easter eggs, optional characters, that sort of thing. Heck, I love the tales games I've played due to interesting characters and the character skits. A game that's just grinding, fighting, and cut scenes doesn't sound very fun to me, and the whole POINT of video games is to have fun. While some people may enjoy running on that line till the very end, it would be nice if they put something in for the rest of us, like side quests, or hidden armors, or heck, even a bloody (optional) mini game.
