Oh yeah I was thinking of old manga like that but I couldn’t put my finger on it! It’s kinda interesting how the art techniques have evolved for anime and manga over the years, they started rather similar, but now not so much so.

Admittedly though that was not my first thought. I was INSTANTLY reminded of Outlaw Star when I saw this.

Now that was a cool art style!
