According to the blog, the body is made from mahogany and a single EMG89 humbucker. Better specs than the Doraemon ESP , made from just plywood.
Her head will probably make it harder to play...none the less, if they came out with a bass version. I'd definitely buy it.

The shape isn't really a matter here, as long as the pickups are either fine enough or shitty enough :)

The Haruhi guitar has tone and volume knobs on her bag (don't ask where the signal jack is located...)
The Tako Luka guitar has a pickup below her open mouth; the knobs are her eyes.
The Azu-nyan bass has one pickup I can see, and one knob I can see (check the centerline of her jacket).
But the Haruhi version looks difficult to play in the upper registers.
Yes, we can see the volume and tone knobs on the Haruhi guitar, but I can't see any pick ups either.

and that's just a chibi image, i'm starting to think there's something troublesome about your imagination.. anyways, this one sure doesn't come out user-friendly, you definitely have to adjust so in order to use it (i have a guitar and sure thing shape is crucial for comfort).
If you're playing while standing with a strap, then the shape shouldn't be too bothersome. It would suck if the weight is badly split along the guitar though.
The only problem playing i'd imagine is if you needed to move your right hand onto the neck for tapping or some other technique.
