I guess nobody remembers Shining Tears/Shining Wind. Sega specifically hired Tony to do character designs for those, but they didn't want him making hentai of any of the girls.

That's what I was thinking as well. He did designs for them but can't make them ecchi although some of his pics for his artbook has been more than enough to made them satisfactory in some shape or form without having to make it ecchi at all.
I'd only like to see Taka Tony to do more character designs instead of just hentai. I respect him and all, it's just... after seeing his Shining Tears/Wind artbooks, I think he could also do much more if he wanted too. But that's my two cents.

Spectacular is not the word I would use. That Miku picture is easily one of his worst.

Her torso is literally at a 90° angle to her waist; that's only possible with extreme effort. Look at her left foot, it's turning further still, making it pretty much impossible.

once again, even i can do that and i'm certainly not a contortionist.
I know she is twisting; I'm saying she's twisting too far. If you're just twisting in your chair, the results will be completely different, because any possibility of actually moving like that are nullified by her leg facing inward. That puts her body way off-balance and pushes her past the 90° limit, which is not how spines are designed.
The angle of the waist is kinda off, but not SO bad. What struck me is how she's about to face-plant if she doesn't catch herself soon.
it's not nearly a 90deg twist; I can manage the degree of twist in that image pretty easily. Meanwhile, the average person's feet should be able to turn inward at least 45-50 degrees, especially if you're twisting your torso the other direction (your torso will move as you twist but your foot will not) so I don't really see what the problem is.

No, it's not just you. You're right his style seems to be changing a bit. But if you look at his past works, his art style constantly shows changes here and there, and by changes, I mean improvement.
Gotta say Senjougahara doesn't look good in that first pic. I just don't think it looks like her.
This. Almost all of Tony's drawings doesn't look like the characters that it should be portraying due to his copy & paste face. His coloring and illustrations are nice but I really wish he would change it up a little bit.
