Yes, sex should be glorified. Because what you are talking about is removing the glory from sex. There is glory, beauty, power, and ancient rites of passage in sex. You are correct about a lack of context in conjunction to children learning about sex, though. And the reason children are whores is not because they are introduced to sex, it's because they are introduced to sex too late. The concepts must become normal and be understood by them otherwise when they feel the urges so powerfully and know nothing about it they will become reckless and become the whores of which you speak because they lack guidance and preparation for a time in their life that will arrive one way or another.

All people are saying is not to react with shame and guilt if your child sees you by accident. Hmmm, I had a girlfriend at 6, and now I am 40. And guess what I still remember her name, how could you say at that age it doesn't mean anything. Sure, it doesn't mean the same thing as it does now, but it sure as hell meant something enough that I still remember it after all these years.

Most parents aren't ready to explain the full ramifications of sex to someone that young (5 or 6), nor are kids that young able to understand those full ramifications yet.

The "if it feels good, do it" crowd who have no concept of love or permanent attachment are gonna mess up the kid if they impart their worldview on someone that young.

Actually, the problem is parents and adults do NOT make that distinction. The major problem with American parents and America in general is that there IS no differentiation between child and adolescent anymore. They're all 'children' as stated by an egotistical older person who likes to conveniently forget that they were like that once as well and very much wanted to know the things all kids want to know. Adolescents are ready for adult emotions and responsibilities. Their path to adulthood is the process of accepting and integrating them into their lives, nothing more.

Anyone with any intellect, however, knows that the kids today are more highly evolved than those of previous generations. They can handle more information and speak with wisdom that adults do not expect, so they call it 'cute' and think of it as a fluke.

If a 3-year-old walks in on sex and says "get off mommy!" then that 3-year-old was meant to see that. If he/she wasn't, then he/she wouldn't have. The responsibility of a parent doesn't come when you want it to, it comes when it does. And you cannot be a coward and pretend it didn't happen, or yes, your fucked up kid IS your fault. That 3-year-old will be informed of the complexities of sex, and understand it if you take time to explain with very simple, direct words and let them connect the dots of information in their heads.

Most people at the young age of 5 obviously did not know the term 'sex' or more specifically sexual penetration. But kids these days are much different.

Back when I was a curious young lad, I too had a female friend and was very interested at the difference between our bodies. But more interested in how my penis erected itself on the pure sight of a naked, premature female body. It puzzled me as it puzzled her and every time she was around we played 'family' where we fondle each others private parts in an attempt to discover the reasoning behind it. I never got any intention to sexually penetrate her, probably because I did not know why or how, mind you it would have hurt both of us as I had my foreskin still attached to the head.

Now imagine if I've had hit puberty earlier and have access to porn from when I was five. My life would then be fucked up in more ways imaginable. So from my perspective kids and adolescence life don't mix, parents separate the two for a reason. And thank god for introducing sex education in grade two.

My newphew is 5 and he has a girlfriend. And he calls her on his cellphone. I am not shiting you. I doubt they're having sex but he's got shit parents and he'll probably be a father by 11. So, educate them on the dangers of sex, STDs, babies, but don't destroy them like anon above said.

Well said. I sort of wished that I wasn't such a moral fag growing up. It makes me regret that my high school and college years were ruined because of the moral fags around me causing me to feel guilty over having a 'normal' open sex drive.

I'm the anon who mentioned above about not having fear. When I was 6, I had a same-age girlfriend actually. I didn't know what sex was nor cared to know at the time, but I kissed her and she kissed me repeatedly, all the time whenever we were together. Essentially, we "made out," but not in a groping, undressing way. We loved one another, yet didn't know what that meant in words, and it didn't matter.

Guess what, our parents met and restricted us, allowing one kiss a day because they were worried about... god knows what, I still don't... and we both didn't understand. We were essentially being punished, which is how our 6-year-old minds understood perental "limiting" of something we liked doing, for loving one another so much we didn't know how to express it except to kiss each other whenever a flare of affection came around.

Needless to say, that experience subconsciously affected how much I love people now. The 5-year-old kid probably DOES have a girlfriend, it's not wrong to say so, and it's not wrong that the parents would support it. Kids that young have the purest form of love you can possibly think of. Nurture that shit like there's no tomorrow, because when it comes to a child's ability to learn and perceive of things as good or bad, there isn't really one.

Yes,Communication is the key to all of this. Sometimes, its harder for parents to explain to there children what they're doing in the bed room.

This is true, but this is easily remedied by exactly what I said though. Really in those situations, if the parents actually weren't embarrassed about the screaming joy that may have scared the kid because he wasn't familiar with sex as a concept, they could explain very easily: "Mommies and daddies love one another very much, and when they are together alone, mommies and daddies have special things they can do together that is just for the two of them. So sometimes mom and I will have private moments where we can show how much we love one another, and it may seem strange to you now, but understand that it is one of the many many ways that mommies and daddies who love each other express it."

It's a little crucial to keep saying 'mommies and daddies' because if you use generalities like 'people' or 'boys and girls' too early in their pre-pubescent lives, that is the type of harmless misunderstanding that causes children to go into 'you show me yours and I'll show you mine' situations. I had one, but honestly, they are wonderful discovery situations (I didn't catch my parents having sex though), so it's not something to be afraid of. The biggest problem with parenting is you have to carefully choose your words while not lying to the child. They can sense it, and you'll be causing all your own problems by lying to them about important matters. The other major problem is just a sad, large helping of useless religious guilt.

As kids we DO indeed get lulz of parents flustered expressions. When I was about 5 or 6 I met my Mom's best friend's daughter. She promptly became my girlfriend and it was like that until she moved years later. At the time I just knew I liked her. Much like someone said above, I don't think there's anything wrong with the whole "girlfriend" thing, nor kissing or hugging. Children learn by example, and what kid isn't always being shown affection from his parents (thus learning from these examples of affection, and noting that it is "good")?

It's usually the adults with the guilty conscience regarding intimacy and affection, and paranoia of underaged sex (despite most of us having our first experience well under 18).
