I don't know whether I'm the one with bad taste or Japan doesn't have great taste in their anime. I'll be on the safe side and say I probably am not weeaboo enough to enjoy most of these shows.

They have Macross F now? The last one I saw was Macross Plus, and before that, Minmay was still defeating aliens by singing.
And now, it's Ranka Lee.
Macross F is actually not shitty, and has some good old school tributes. I enjoyed it.
Unlike Macross 7, that should just fade away and be forgotten.

I've seen all those show and love all of them. I agree that K-on is worse than all of them but it's still fun to watch (or read) when I want to relax.

They are talking about magazine exposure not popularity. Magazine exposure means the company that spent the most on advertising. The only thing remotely to do with popularity that this could correlate with is potential unpopularity. A company could over expose a show because it isn't popular but you can't tell just from how much exposure it gets since you would actually need to have the figures on popularity to find that out.
All of these shows either are on tv right now or have dvds or other merchandise being released for them right now so would have marketing exposure.

Kobato is cute as can be, and, it also has the viewer participates along with the show like presentation of lines - words - script and voice actor excitement causing the viewers to blurt out what the next words one of them will say (in Japanese). That is fun and it makes 'me' smile every show that is up beat. Haven't seen a number of those can't comment on them.
Any list that has Fairy Fail in it can not be trusted.

i have to agree +- with this list (except for fairyfail...i refuse to accept it as one of the bests), but really...the upcoming Macross movie don't explains it seizing the top spot...fsn, knk, rebuild of eva, hellsing ultimate, gundam 00 and Canaan will have movies too and they didn't reach the top.

Nice... I stopped watching the new FMA (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) for now because it seemed a bit more cartoony and loose with ignoring the law of conservation of mass&energy, but the original was a masterpiece, so I'm glad to see it doing well.
I've been thinking of checking out Hetalia. I've heard it's yaoi or at least BL? Not that that'll rule it out, but I'd hope that's just the way the dynamics work and not the main focus?
