I guess people really forgot about the fact that this is based on "magazine exposure"
i have to agree +- with this list (except for fairyfail...i refuse to accept it as one of the bests), but really...the upcoming Macross movie don't explains it seizing the top spot...fsn, knk, rebuild of eva, hellsing ultimate, gundam 00 and Canaan will have movies too and they didn't reach the top.
thats cause those movies are not coming out the month after the magazine
Gundam 00? i think GUNDAM SEED is still the best gundam i watch in the series best in story and character development although zero got the best detailed mobile suit animation

Nice... I stopped watching the new FMA (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) for now because it seemed a bit more cartoony and loose with ignoring the law of conservation of mass&energy, but the original was a masterpiece, so I'm glad to see it doing well.
I've been thinking of checking out Hetalia. I've heard it's yaoi or at least BL? Not that that'll rule it out, but I'd hope that's just the way the dynamics work and not the main focus?
Holy crap! There's a Fairy Tail anime! That manga was great... I hope it transitioned better than One Piece (also, anyone know why it looks so much like One Piece? I haven't dug into it, but they are different artists, right? The writing is obviously way different. *cough*somuchbetter*

Am I the only one who understands that this list is about how often an anime was mentioned in certain magazines. It has nothing to do with popularity directly it think.

I guess about 50% of the people posting here are idiots that either can't read or just can't understand the subject manner.
They are talking about magazine exposure not popularity. Magazine exposure means the company that spent the most on advertising. The only thing remotely to do with popularity that this could correlate with is potential unpopularity. A company could over expose a show because it isn't popular but you can't tell just from how much exposure it gets since you would actually need to have the figures on popularity to find that out.
All of these shows either are on tv right now or have dvds or other merchandise being released for them right now so would have marketing exposure.
Exactly, but mind you, they wouldn't be brought up in magazines and the like if people didn't want such articles to be brought to light. So in a way, it does indeed have to do with popularity, just in a more indirect way than the usual polls and questionnaires.

I don't know whether I'm the one with bad taste or Japan doesn't have great taste in their anime. I'll be on the safe side and say I probably am not weeaboo enough to enjoy most of these shows.

Macross F is actually not shitty, and has some good old school tributes. I enjoyed it.
