Yeah, I can't see their faces, but they look just fine to me what I can see.

2D may have an aesthetic edge, but "mai waifu" can only go on so long - and it gets harder once you get much older than the 2D characters... you can actually have a 3D girl (yes, you - the one who thinks you can't!) so 3D ultimately wins...

I've actually seen japanese schoolgirls, and I didn't find them annoying or artless at all. Some are pretty too, and pretty cute. Depends on the person I guess. But yes, the real world will never have only the idealized forms of them only.
