silly anon, illusion games are well known for bad use of the video card and for raping the cpu. add motion capture, 3d support and some bloom effects and there you have it, i7 requierement.
Illusion games always suck with ther optimisation to the crappy graphics that you need to watch in their games :] .

If the company wanted a mega-win, they'd include mesh and paint editors with the game, so you could customize the model how hou liked (i.e., changing the face-shape to pointy-chinned "CLAMP"-style, adding "hair antennae" and glasses, etc., if that's what you want).
They'd create a secondary market in models (like 3rd-party levels for FPS games), which would boost the market for their graphics engine.

Hm does anybody think we will be able to create our own characters? Illusion's games of this sort have of course allowed the creation and customization of our own characters, but I don't think they ever used motion capture before did they? Maybe there are some complex intricacies with trying to mate motion capture with "create your own" characters... I hope that's not the case, because a game like this totally screams for character customization.
