I had a dream like this once. I was running faster and faster and could not slow down. It was really scary and I didn't wake up until I was going like 100km/h flew down a hill to my certain demise.

This video bring up bad memories.

Seems like a common dream, yes. I had a dream like that too. Though, I always realize I wouldn't die even if I crashed in something. Rather, that I were always able to block and reduce the damage.

I've never had a dream like that, but the closest I probably got is a dream where I tried to jump a short flight of stairs on top of a landing, only to have the landing seem to stretch further and further away as I kept falling faster and faster. The dream ended when the landing stopped stretching away from me.

Well, at least the music (start: 0:31) is stolen from the FLCL soundtrack. The song is called "Yorii Gallop" ...

well independent nowadays means just ripping off someones elses work anyway.

FYI, that music was composed by Dmitri Kabalevsky who died years before FLCL was made. By your logic, FLCL ripped off someone else's work.

This music was also used on Card Captor Sakura, Azumanga Daioh, I think even in they used it in Lucky Star.

This is a classic tune, like Moonlight Sonata or Kanon, you can hear it in many movies out there.

Usually, independently stuff in animation are better animated than studios who are bounded (just look at Kadokawa).

Because they work without such a severe deadline, and they can afford it to do things they want (I heard from my teacher -who's a professional animator- that sometimes, distributors don't allow you to even correct some flaws in your animation).

TT-TT but for the first time in a long while I can say that was delightful. It reminds me of better times when Disney still made 2D movies. The art style was weird and I didn't think i'd like it but I love it. This independent studio better get some sort of deal and lots of money because that actually was different from the stuff you see these days despite the pantsu shots. No huge glossy eyes or rainbow hair or huge oppai or super moe just a girl and a boy. We need more stuff like this.

I second this notion. While Oppai, moe, gotta have blue hair and more have their place, it would be nice to see more works like this. I could see a non moe Drama/slice of life being made on the principle of the short. Sure, it would probably only be a few episodes, but it would have a lot more charm than a lot of the anime that seems popular now.

This reminds me of those wacky cartoon shorts they used to broadcast over ten years ago. Begins with some problem, has the main character go through a whole bunch of random unrelated crap, then uses a punch line referencing the beginning.

On another note, that is a really high and steep hill for so much residential housing, and that guy must move really fast to outrun a person falling from the sky down a hill.

Damn, damn, damn... This is so awesome! It's such an awesome blend of anime and (what reminds me of) classic western cartoons. The story, the music, and the humor remind me of when cartoon shorts were an actual art form - not throwaway entertainment for kids below age 12.

I can't put into words how awesome this is. I applaud the quality of this short. It's better than so many of the things I see, especially when it comes to western animation, which has either become 3D or is 2D and made in Flash with no actual care. I want to see more of this.

The music is the best. Classical music used to be a cornerstone of classic western animation and it's become sadly ignored.

The song is "Galloping Comedians" by Dmitri Borisovich Kabalevsky. FLCL fans are right to say this is familiar to them: It was used in the anime and is even included in the OST (and is, in my opinion, the best rendition of the song EVER.) If you watch internet flash animations, you'll also know this song from "Dad's at Work".

To the people saying this is like FLCL: I do see the visual similarities, but absolutely no one mentioned that the same music is used in FLCL episode 3. That's probably helping you to make the comparison.

Don't worry, I found it to be typical trash too with its only merit being its smooth animation. Couldn't care for the ugly character designs and overblown embarrassment of the female character.

I must say, this is very unrealistic. Several physical laws, if not most of them, are broken constantly through the clip. I am very disappointed, as obviously, the creator hasn't put much thought in it and oversaw his obvious fallacies which contradict modern quantum physics, relativistic physics, and hell, even the classic physics.

It does seem like a lot of Sankaku articles are rather like that. Take an article, throw in a bunch of otaku buzzwords (even if they're inaccurate, don't make sense, or ridiculously exaggerated), grab a vaguely related picture off the booru (or in at least one recent article, apparently just a picture the writer liked), and bam, instant blog entry.

Eventually there will be an article that just says "Loli pantsu oppai rapist chikan anime waifu" and has a picture of Asuka in a test plugsuit.

The dynamics are very amazing in this video, along with a vague, but funny storyline (although, for 2 minutes, it's enough).

If I did my math correctly (because I'm bored), in real-life, she would've been falling at a climax at 34-45 mph (55-72kph) given that those storefronts had a width of 15-2o feet. Which is impressive for a someone her size.

The Pisa Tower has nothing on this girl's fall. :O

While the style is fundamentally anime, it seems to be a fusion with american direction in terms of the exaggerated movement. I haven't seen an anime try to have 3d movement in a long time, so it's a refreshing change of pace.

While I say it's american in style, latey, american cartoons have abandoned this style seemingly completely in favor of a cheap flat 2d presentation. Although, the same cn be said of animes these days which only give the illusion of actual movement with panning.

Here's the English translation, except for that triangular sign I can't quite translate:

    Title: Fumiko's Confession (of love).

Fumiko: Um, um -- PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!
Takashi: I'm sorry! Right now I want to focus on baseball.
    *While running*
    Fumiko: Takashi-kun you idiot! (baka)
    *When sees him walking below*
    Fumiko: Takashi-kun!
    *After landing*
Fumiko: ... I'll make miso soup for you every morning!
Takashi: I'm sorry! Right now I want to focus on baseball.
    *End*

There are only two characters listed in the credits right at the beginning. Fumiko by "Hina" and Takashi by someone whose name I can't quite figure out.

About the pocket: Let's not forget this is not a professional animation, and even those have mistakes and inconsistencies.
