Marriage is a contract that protects both parties in case of divorce, death, birth etc. It dictates rights and responsibilities. *Not* getting married is actually quite risky. What happens if either one of them dies, or if they break up? You don't have to believe in any fantasy ghost figures to get married... Ofc it is possible to protect your rights with other mutual *written and notarized* contracts, but would it really be worth the trouble ;)

I don't understand the need to marry in the first place, unless you're religious. My uncle and aunt have been together all their life, and have 3 kids, the oldest of which is 15, and they never married. They don't see any point. Well, neither do I. There are no real benefits what so ever. There are however DISadvantages when the two involved ecide to split up, and get a divorce. When not married however, splitting up is alot less of a headache.

Then at least I'd feel like he wasn't looking down on me. I mean, it's like, insulting to my pride to treat me like that. Like I'm some kind of fucking crystal vase that'll break and not be valuable anymore if you do anything bad, assuming that I'm that brittle and useless. Fuck that shit. Almost that whole list pisses me off. I have one rule that might be considered sexist, and that's don't hit girls, but that's because I don't really know how to hold back. Except it's more 'don't hit the defenseless' than don't hit girls, 'cuz I guess I wouldn't want to hit a guy who I know I would hurt either... y'know sometimes it's okay to horse around and sometimes it's not, but gender shouldn't be the determining factor. Whether or not the hit would hurt them when you don't want it to should. Also, Sex in the City fucking sucks. It's a horrible fucking show and it makes me disgusted even more with how it influences how my gender generally behaves. If chicks weren't busy being stupid bitches then we might have actual fucking equality by now, and it really fucking sucks that they're part of the problem and won't even realize it. Fuck.

I was reading the Genshiken manga and after two of the characters were obviously having sex on a fairly regular basis as a couple.... they still refer to each other as their family names with honorifics... THANK YOU i've not been getting many responses on whether people think I have reasonable expectations. I believe a pre-nuptial agreement doesn't say the man doesn't believe it'll work out, it says if the woman believes it'll work out she has nothing to worry about. I seriously hate when women use pre-nups to say "You don't think it'll last!!!" when by not signing it they're saying it's not going to last so they want to secure alimony. Although I would appreciate a woman's POV......
