Ultra Jump’s 10th anniversary cover has received a particularly ravishing illustration by renowned illustrator Range Murata, who has lately been illustrating their covers.
Sadly, the magazine itself is severely lacking in scantily clad retro-futuristic girl content…

Very impressive, nice cover.
RANGE MURATA FTW.
He is one of the best character artists ever.
Actually I agree with that... Last Exile is one of the best anime I've seen. His projects looks really great. Even if all of them looks familiar.
good for lolicon...
Putting a bikini on a lolita is like making a Hummer a convertible.
It just doesn't look right.
It looks good, and that's enough.
Just look at the picture and either say it's good or leave without a word
So...putting a bikini on a cute, young girl...is like taking a big, ugly, vehicle and making it a (big, ugly) convertible?
I'm sorry but maybe your (pedo) tendencies having speaking nonsense out of guilt..? o.o;;
retard.
Well thats a disappointment! We need more art by Range Murata! Ultra Jump should get 'em to do more of their covers!
I agree I really like the way this guy does thing.
it's sad he's not editing robot [http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_ss?__mk_ja_JP=J^Ji&url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=robot c@&x=0&y=0] any more. gelatin [http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_ss?__mk_ja_JP=J^Ji&url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=[` j}KW&x=0&y=0] just isn't the same thing. :(
Wow, just ... wow. Great cover!
He's pretty much defined the 1920s retro-tech look.
I liked his character designs in "Last Exile".
Really awesome art. But this sort of "realistic" 2D art just isn't my cup of tea. =/
Do not want ur loli, kthxbai
cover art is what should be drawing in new as well as "satisfying" older readers.. the content should be just as interesting, however, there seems to be less cyberpunk lately i agree.
the pic itself hawt.. nomnomnom
I really like his art specially his art deco style and once referencing his works for my history of art assignment, too bad my lecturer's too shitty for it
A perfect Anniversary cover for all
Artefact you just managed to turn me in to a complete lolicon. Well at least for 2D.
Her crotch looks weird. Wait, oh shi...
Oh no, not one of these cakes again?
Wat? Haven't you heard of slanted pussies before?
I'm more concerned by the fact that her face appears to be melting off.
loli loli cover!!!
Awesome drawing. Too bad it's loli. Very unattractive and not sexy.
I don't believe loli is meant to be sexy.
Twintailed loli located!!!! [LOCK ON] *drools* ... ... ... *drools some moar* xD
Anyone else thinking 'shota trap'??
No, don't ruin it for some of us.
her panties are just shifted a little to the right. I think it's great, it's a little touch of 'imperfection' that makes it seem a little more authentic, underwear shifts some when the body moves
i seriously just dont get you anons' obsession of loli.
Then how about someone with a name?
I LOVE LOLIS.
I'm not into loli, but this cover looks amazing (especially with the details to her boot).
Now THAT is some hot loli.
Range Murata's work has so much style and personality. He graces my desktop wallpaper on a regular basis. He also has a hell of a way with color.
The guy himself looks a little creepy though if I recall... I'll just pretend he's actually a hot loli in my head.
o0 nice loli
*fap fap
Come on people, sales are down in a bad economy.
Loli = money.
(not a fan of realistic loli though)
Nice artwork!
Definitely worth for savin' (^_^)
Murata is beyond hot!!!
I prefer adult women, but his "Loli" pics would want to make one reconsider if not for AmeriKKKaz "Pedo" witch hunt.
Wouldn't it be nice to try to set up a "Retro/Futur" band to get a cute young lady to wear the costume and sing in a retro microphone? (that yellow suit) Or rig up a compact rectangle motorcycle...?
Actually, loli aside, those compact rectangle motorbikes are a good idea. Have simple modular transport units for rental. They are too distinctive and not very sporty, so not worth stealing. However, as hopefully society gets more sensible there will be a lot of cities getting rigged right so no one needs a car or motorcycle except once in a while. Enter the public or semi-private "No hassle rental" utility so you could go cruising down the road on your day off or something...
Does this guy do those 'Robot" books?
Yeah, that's the same guy
I'm seriously trying so hard not to fap to this pic. Though from the looks of it, I'm going to fail.
I've been reading this site for quite awhile and decided to post a comment.
I love Murata's style, and it goes far beyond mere replicating art deco. From my observations, it appears that Murata has studied Norman Rockwell, and the Americana-style that Rockwell made famous.
Personally, I think Murata's ero illustrations provide a great juxtaposition of the 1950's repressive culture within the Rockwell style and motif. Murata's work is what Rockwell could have been.
That was deep... the only question is, did Rockwell draw loli?
if he was alive today, yes
He drew alot of kids and home scenes. He and Murata are alike in their are, I have to agree with OP.
Wow, I'm so glad someone else saw that too. The Rockwell parallel seems odd but I have always thought that as well. Murata always leaves me with a sense of nostalgia even though it is nothing I have seen before. By far my favorite artist and has been for a long time. Awesome!
Reminds me when I drew a nice-looking cover for a locally-made doujinshi.
People bought the books because of the nice looking cover and when I checked inside, the art and content are crap.
... and I didn't even get paid.
Might be a trap. Look at the crotch
Sharp eyes you got there, you can be a good artist if you really want to.
Range Murata, god among illustrators...
I dream of an uncensored full colored h manga from him.
I know I should not like this.....
but I do.
I love Murata's work. I have the majority of the doujinshi artbooks he's released, including the stupidly well-presented Last Exile books, and Azure, the Blue Sub 6 book. As well as most of the Robot books so far, form|code, and one of the two issues of Character Design Bible he did the cover for.
I hadn't heard he was doing covers for UJ though. :O
This reminds me to some "Last Exile" artwork I saw several years ago.
Oh, fuck! Range Murata was Character Main Designer for Last Exile...
He's taken realism in anime-styled art right into uncanny valley. The more I look at it, the more it looks like a real girl in a bikini wearing a huge loli head.
delicous loli
