This actually isn't true that just being in a first world country will make life "not suck" except for those in the upper crust of society. Were it true, you wouldn't see women becoming strippers to make in one night what they claim they would in a "normal" job make in several weeks to a month. The term "wage slave" comes to mind because it's a startlingly true statement on life for a sizable portion of the population of even first world countries in a day and age where the top 15-20% of people control well over 80-85% of the total wealth, with the top few percent having a hilariously large slice of that 80-85%. That's capitalism.

Late answer is late, but yeah, I'm German. Prostitution here is entirely legal as long as the sexual act sold is legal (pretty much everything except loli sex and life-threatening physical harm is), it's kept from public display (or alternatively in specially designated red light districts) and everyone pays their taxes like all good citizens do. Three years ago, a huge pleasure palace opened right next to the home of the president of my federal state, they even officially invited him and his wife over for the opening ceremony (though he declined). Sometimes it can be quite lulzy over here...

No, it's just 10 years. Just that back than I liked to watch 10 year old movies as I had easy access to them. And isn't Lethal Weapon a Cop Movie? Pretty sure John McClane is a cop too. I don't try to be chinese, this nick just popped into my mind at some point in time. I'm from europe and know about the rush hour movies (boring, despite the fact of jackie starring in them.)

No, just no. Most foreigners who are studying there are really well off, they have to be in order to pay full fees. The foreign women who work in brothels are mostly there illegally, on social pass, work/study visa, overstayers, working visa for some other profession or Asian Australians.
