Artistic lighting. If you draw (or at least attempt to draw) you'd know how hard it is to get "believable" lighting right.
To fellow artists, the level of detail in your work is really an indicator of your skill. This includes hair detail, lighting, body detail (such as muscles and structure), clothing complexity, action, sharpness, etc.
Even if it's not to your taste, you still have to admit that this artist has some exceptional talent.

Actually, he has a pretty good idea of female anatomy (he illustrates every detail such as muscles and bone structure very well), but he exaggerates them somewhat like a sexy caricature.
And some of the clothing seems so tight that it's cutting lines into the girls. Not that I'm complaining.
