Darker Than Black Unintentional Flying Car Anime

The many fans of Darker Than Black’s second season have been disturbed to note a production error of epic magnitude, with the anime mysteriously featuring a flying car thanks to the evident thoroughness of its quality control procedures.
A more normal traffic scene:
2ch is speculating that this is some sort of highly embarrassing production blunder made during the process of merging CG cars with the backgrounds in question.
Just whether the error will be corrected in a later DVD remains to be seen.

Before the flying scene I remember hearing something about "The world changing little by little" In the 2 years between Darker than Black and this sequal, the possibility of flying cars- only available to the extremely rich as of now is possible.
That's my theory at least..

It's not a just a theory, it's a fact COVERED IN THE SERIES ITSELF. Maybe it's not commonplace, but it's there. The biggest example of the world in Darker than Black being technologically advanced is one of the main characters (Mao).
Then again, the article writer didn't even watch Darker than Black, so who cares?

How is it a prank? If you watch the episode they talk about how the Gate has led to many new discoveries. There's already ME, which erases/extracts/implants memories. A hovercar isn't that farfetched.

Actually i thought it was common sense the flying car would be in the future of DTB, think about it, Schroeders experiementing on Hei with like atom physics and that exploding hadron collider thing he used on him with that new group. Stands to reason a flying car might exist. The reason i say flying car and not blunder is because of the way it moves, it floats rather than goes perfectly straight. Common sense looks to be intentional to me.
Russia is the last place i'd would expect to see a flying car. No offence but if flying cars are a reality in this anime, wouldnt you expect to see more flying cars in a wealthier country such as Japan. Since it's more likely to have a higher density of wealthy people.
Japan has a no fly policy since it's likely to interfere with rider kicks, magic girls, and foreign nationality batmen.

It seems to be intentional, seeing how the car doesn't look cropped or chops into the background, besides it looks like a sportscar, those aren't known for their capacity to sit many passengers comfortably, the driver could be laying down.

Whatever it is, it's obviously intentional. It even has a license plate in front and fully rendered bottom complete with a blue-glowing-sci-fi-like-circular-hover-device underneath.

It looks like it has enough room for a single person to recline in it. It's pretty similar in design to an enclosed motorcycle, minus the wheels. No room for luggage, though, unless you carry it in your lap.

I am utterly mystified as to why anyone would think this was accidental. It had its own sound effect, and came at the same time as a comment about how the world was changing.
They probably never watched the show, and only saw the screencaps.
As far as I remember, when the flying car appeared there was some comment about 'The future being now' or some such in relation to Contractors. I had assumed that it was built or made for a contractor and it flew by use of his powers.
And considering the magician's power, (Note the red and black of the car, holds with the style of the magician's clothing) perhaps he can also conjure up fancy future transport. Just thought I would provide some logical thoughts rather than jumping to conclusions like 'LOL ERROR'.

Like a few have said, I think it was SUPPOSED to be a flying car. The scene where it pops up says something along the lines of "the future is now".
Only makes sense that in the fairly technologically advanced word DTB takes place in, the rich would have such a device.
If it WAS an error, then it'd be a pretty huge one considering it takes place right in the center of the scene. Not exactly something that could be overlooked.

I didn't see the thing, but it surely took a few frames, I don't think that the animators were lunatic to not notice they added something which was even "rendered" into their product. Maybe it was intentional, maybe it IS NOT even a car.

The DtB setting may be remarkably cutthroat what with all the contractors trying to kill each other or do some shady stuff, human ethics being thrown out of the window and tons of assholes being in position of power. Pretty sure that this was done on purpose. Watch the scene, she talks about how things are changing and they focus on that vehicle
it's a reference to "the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" by douglas adams. in ine of the later books, one of the characters owns a pod-shaped spaceship. it has the plates and everything. it's color is described as "darker than black...so dark that your eyes practically slide off it"
