I was expecting something more along the lines of One Piece, which it could have been. I mean, I can't help but draw comparisons between Fairy Tail and One Piece. Their setting are different, for sure, and their characters' personalities are their own (although Natsu and Luffy are very similar in that regard), but they both have a very similar sense of fun and epic-ness that the Fairy Tail anime just failed to catch. If the Fairy Tail anime lasts long enough, maybe it'll hit its stride and become worth watching, but for now it's too annoying for me. That, and the parts where they use magic seem overly frilly in the anime, whereas use of magic in the manga flows naturally into the story. I guess I expected something more along the lines of One Piece. Book Of Bantorra and DTB 2 are damn great.
