2ch has given its verdict on the current state of the Fall 2009 anime season, and the ranking seems to indicate a resounding victory for Darker Than Black.
It should be noted that most of the votes for the ranking were concentrated in the top 5, with the other 25 or so anime generally securing equally little interest…

After spelling it properly, I think Nyankoi is at a reasonable place. I'm surprised that Kobato's so low though. I would have expected it further up.....then again, with lack of any fanservice (other than "so kawaiiiiiiiii"), I suppose it's to be expected.
I'm dumbfounded by Kämpfer scoring higher than Kobato, in fact. I'd have switched their places in my ranking. And I'd have bumped Seiken no Blacksmith off of the list in favor of 11eyes.

yah.. i wasnt a big fan of the voices in fairy tail either. That, and the parts where they use magic seem overly frilly in the anime, whereas use of magic in the manga flows naturally into the story. I guess I expected something more along the lines of One Piece. I mean, when Luffy stretches, there isn't a flashy and pointless 1-2 minute sequence beforehand.

Agreed, they could have made the Fairy Tail anime so much better than they did. I was expecting something more along the lines of One Piece, which it could have been. I mean, I can't help but draw comparisons between Fairy Tail and One Piece. Their setting are different, for sure, and their characters' personalities are their own (although Natsu and Luffy are very similar in that regard), but they both have a very similar sense of fun and epic-ness that the Fairy Tail anime just failed to catch.
If the Fairy Tail anime lasts long enough, maybe it'll hit its stride and become worth watching, but for now it's too annoying for me.

Either way, their making a huge casting mistake, putting alot of big names (Kugumiya and Hirano) into the cast.
They should concentrate on more suitable voices than famous celebrities...

That, Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Purezza, and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun are the ones I'm watching this season. All the other anime I am whiles those aren't on are on DVD since the other shows just don't seem that great.

Well.... I don't mind gender-bending animes or manga. Ranma 1/2 should be proof enough that such a genre can be damn entertaining.
Nice to see one of my current must-watch shows up there though (Railgun). others might not agree with me, but the tension between Mikoto, Touma (when he appears at all) and Kuroko keeps me coming

Tentai Senshi Sun Red - The story revolves around the hero Sunred's battles against General Vamp and his shadowy group of minions in a spoof of classic Japanese anime and live-action special-effects shows.
I heard its suppose to be hilarious.
I guess this is slightly less terrible than previous season's ranking. I can agree for most part but Nyan Koi, Railgun and SnO don't deserve to be so high up and Trapeze, Aoi Bungaku and Sunred should be higher.
Kimi no Todoke should be up higher, such tear jerking series (at least ones that's good enough to stir your emotion) isn't common these days. Plus Noto Mamiko is doing a supreme job as usual.

I'm currently in my last year of getting my chemical engineering bachelors and get my living expenses & tuition payed through scholarship/grants. SO they are fun to watch. The darker than black storyline in ep.1 sucked arse to me not even bothering to watch it. How was the voting done? If it was simply a "vote for your favorite" there's a good chance that some of the good stuff that wouldn't crack a person's favorite but would still be a solid number 2 or 3 selection gravitates to the bottom of the list.
That being said, I would have to agree with some of the positions on the list, 11eyes I was looking forward to but it seems to have taken a bit of a dive after the first couple of episodes. Kampfer seems to have struggled with the same problem.
Biribiri seems to be gravitating towards a more moeblob drawing style, and is starting to suffer from a lack of screentime for the title character (It's pretty much safe to label this phenomenon Index Syndrome now I think)
Kobato is enjoyable but is definitely aimed at a younger audience than the average 2ch-goer. Hence the place on the ranking is pretty understandable.
Nyan Koi I think deserves its spot in the top 3, it delivers consistent quality even after the first couple of episodes with a good amount of humor without having to be too ecchi.
Kimi ni Todoke is another pleasant surprise and is definitely something to watch if you're into the shoujo romance drama genre at all.
Kiddy Girl-and is something I'll be watching, mostly from the expectations setup by its predecessor which IMO also got off to a pretty slow start. If it ends up being anything like the second half of Kiddy Grade I'll be happy.

Probably it's like other internet votes (cmiiw) where you can only vote for one title. Basically to make the ranking better, they should let people post at least their top 3 (in order of course and top 5 or top 10 would be even better) and do weighted average on the votes.

Anime has been pretty awful lately. There hasn't been a quality series that wasn't one massive fan service video in a long time. I miss the Last Exiles and Cowboy Bebops. Everything is moe, panties, breasts, and socially retarded guys amassing harems amidst constant misunderstandings.
Well, true. Cowboy Bebop had some fanservice (Ed and Faye anyone?), but it didn't detract much from the overall flow of the story.

As for the anime list I personally find DTB2 and Kimi no Todoke to be the best while Sora no Otoshimono to be amusing. I probably won't see Railgun because I was so disappointed with Index's story (or lack of thereof), even if Railgun is good. But overall I think the list is pretty accurate.

I'm keeping a close eye on Railgun and Kampfer myself. So far, aside from the copious fanservice, nothing to the story yet. But it is still at the start for those two.

Rather than regular votes (where you can only choose one of your favorite), they should make a list of all the animes airing and let the voters at least choose their top 5 (in order of course) and grade it from there (weighted average). Of course I don't know how 2ch voting method, but if it like other internet votes, then you can only choose one. The problem with only choosing one is lets say that there is no DtB, then those who would choose DtB don't automatically choose Railgun as their favorite. This would help massively those anime that are good but bumped down because there is a better anime in the same genre.
For example.. Let's assume that for most people Bantorra is a good anime but since DtB is the better action anime for most people then Bantorra is screwed.
As for the result itself I think it's fair enough considering that (cmiiw) this is just a simple vote.

I like Railgun, but it seems like it's entirely compsed of fillers. There's no actual plot present as of yet, just day to day instances.
It's started to have a plot... The part about the 'invisible' girl wasn't just there for the lulz. It showed the system 'may' have some errors grading people. And also that one of them is a lvl= is intriguing, she should have a power,even if it's useless (Tohma & co. are all lvl 0 with nullification and regen for example)

Well, Darker than Black is the best thing airing right now, I'll at least agree with that much. Kampfer shouldn't even be on the list. Blacksmith should be higher.

no inuyasha

and kobato scoring lower than sora no otoshimono/natsu no arashi/kampfer

Sums it up really. You have your odd quality show in the list and then the rest is dominated by the fanservice trash they regularly eat up.

This really is a horrible season for anime. The Winter list looks much more promising however.
Seiken no Blacksmith shouldn't even be near the top 10. Oh wait, they have K-ON! styled moe girls in a fantasy setting, one of which is a terrible character type. Not even Luke can save this show. Railgun is okay, but really, not deserving of 2nd place. This also applies to Kampfer. Ah fuck it, moe girls sell, its not like people grade anime for actual substance these days anyway.

Considering that Sora no Otoshimono is not "Oh grimdark with plot twists every episode" or a festival of moeblobbery like K-on, it's doing extremely well to rank #5 on that list (and also considering the majority of the votes were concentrated on the top 5).
Sora no Otoshimono is damn awesome, at the very least for having perhaps the best production values this season so far. (can anyone name another series that has a brand-new ED every single episode?)

My personal opinion of fall anime 2009 xD
Book Of Bantorra and DTB 2 are damn great.
11eyes and Sacred Blacksmith, and Railgun are good.
Kämpfer, Nyankoi, and Aoi Bungaku are mediocre.
Needless, Trapeze and Sunred is crap.
Queens Blade, Asura Cryin, and Fairy Tail are all utter garbage and not worth watching.
Havent yet seen Kimi No Todoke or Kobato so aint gonna comment them.

For all the hate on the fall '09 animes, I personally have more shows I'm enjoying this season than anytime in recent memory; have about 8 or 9 I'm following compared to my normal 3 to 5 per season.
Glad i'm not the only one that found Fairy Fail an utter disappointment. I haven't seen animation quality that bad in a very long time.

I found Nyan Koi to be surprisingly endearing for its type.
Nyan koi is a good example of a lame story told in an interesting way.
And by the comments here, I assume Fairy Tale is the opposite, an interesiting story told in a lame way.
