I thought Suikoden 2's was more sad and unexpected than FFVII's. Though I suppose Suikoden 2's was undone if you got the good end.

FF is just so overrated...Im not saying these are bad, but there are better games.
Oh, and i know of a SNES game called Rudra no Hihou (Treasure of Rudra), haven´t finished it jet, but for what i know it´s a very sad game.

Final Fantasy Games aren't new to those kinds of Rankings, they'll always be there when you need something to cry over, storywise and etc.

It's an embarrassing admission to make, but the significant omission from this list, to me, is the first Metal Gear Solid.

Kojima's played his hand since then, and the later ones don't get me. But the Alaskan desolation of the original, the perfect theme, and the fact that by the end you feel just as betrayed as the guys you just killed did not go unnoticed.

I didn't necessarily make me cry, but it left it's mark, al the same.

Kana little sister? I played it when I was 14 or 15 years old...but I can't remember the ending, what I remembered, the main character has a weak younger sister, but she's not blood related. Is it that one? CMIIW.

I don't think Tifa in a bikini is very tearjerking.

I agree with everything.. but FFX? hmm.... Yeah there were sad parts, but my eyes didn't even get watery... and it being number one? huh? well it'll be clearer if this list isn't arranged in order..

ffvii should be first. seriously. gamers were crying nearly every turning point. fanboys all over the world forgot their masculinity completely and cried rivers when aerith died. SERIOUSLY.

how was final fantasy 7 a tearjerker? I mean really. I'm brought to tears that ff7 has to be mentioned EVERYWHERE.....it was a good game....but not the only good game...

Although Clannad is obvious because of its popularity I didn't cry near as much as I did playing Crescendo, especially when I played the hidden story you get after you play through each story-arc for the main characters.

A theatrical must play for anyone who enjoyed Kana.
