i wouldn't want korosuke to live with me, he'll get more annoying by the week. now doraemon, i'd strip him off all his technological shit and then give him to some random family. I wouldn't want to live with someone who'd be correcting my errors in life 24/7.

If the idea is "friends with benefits" then that changes things a lot, but my understanding is this would be more like roommates. In that case, I can see the attraction of "You want it? Done!" Doraemon.
But I'd go for Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku, Belldandy, or Aoi in terms of who would be nice to have around the house. Mahoro is good, too, and since none of the others I mentioned would be very fond of smut either, that part of her personality isn't really an issue.

Personally I'd prefer an outgoing, confident, and if possible, teasing girl, since those are the type of girls I like best, both in manga/anime/VN's, and real life. Examples would be Asa from SHUFFLE, Satsuki from Ichigo 100%, or Kyou from Clannad(tsundere is another good quality). Though there's always cute lolis aswell. Rika would be my favourite in that case. "Nipaah~!" ^^ My all-time favourite anime/manga/VN character and waifu interest though is Tohsaka Rin from Fate/stay night. Love you, Rin-chama.

Though if I were to choose to live with an anime character I'd choose Washu-chan from Tenchi lets face it she's the most useful character.
She really can do anything and has both a loli and a really hot milf form.
But then again she would be kinda dangerous as you could get experimented on.

Another much safer choice maybe Tsuruya from Haruhi.

I don't know if anyone noticed it, but the ones that are qualified to be in the poll in the first place are characters that are considered "live in", meaning that they came and lived in the same house as the main character, or in Kenshin's case, a Rurouni that ended up in the house of Kaoru.

This means that characters that have their own homes, aka Haruhi, Luffy, etc, are disqualified from the list.

I see why they chose them. Almost all of those characters are good at housework like cleaning and cooking. People were actually thinking with their head rather than their penis for once.

Living with Kenshin is fine too. He cooks, he washes, he sweeps, he's great with children... and he smacks thieves all the way to high orbit. All packed in one convenient package.

And Doraemon is the stuff of childhood. Who would not want to live in their childhood dream?
