Endless Eight DVD Sales “Mortal”

The long awaited (at least by the jeering masses) Endless Eight DVD release has occurred, and a variety of visitors to the Akihabara shops at the forefront of marketing such DVDs gloat over sales described as “mortal.”
The displays can be seen to be attracting a lot of interest.
“Experts enjoy Endless Eight by watching the swimsuit scenes in each!” Even store displays couldn’t resist taking jabs at the DVD: “The summer that won’t end! orz”
The previous Haruhi DVD did neither spectacularly well nor spectacularly badly, but certainly demonstrated poor sales for a supposed queen of anime.
Store staff asked about how the Endless Eight DVD is selling called sales “mortal,” hardly a reassuring sign. Kadokawa themselves expect as much.
However, Oricon’s own daily anime DVD sales rankings currently show the DVD to be at number one, albeit with little serious competition; just what level of sales this will amount to will be known soon enough…

It has been mention many time that Kadokawa is the one who is responsible for this "Endless Eight" stuff but people still think it is kyoani's fault.
Just like Obama, people saw on national TV that he break his pledge on public campaign financing.
Then people are surprise that he break his promise after becoming the president.

the problem is that sales with be lets say between 10k to 30k copies. there already peopels not from japan I know is going to buy it.

they should have tried using chapters in DVD. Different chapters for the different scenes, maybe as special feature?

poor sales in endless
i decided to see what this endless 8 things was about, and i ended watching the last 6 episodes in fast forward.
I enjoyed the series, but endless eight seems like such a silly idea, what were they thinking? were they on drugs? i mean they could have exploited the idea and make it funny by adding some details/ events, or simply focusing on an activity in each episode, but hell no!

As one guy said a little bit above me, you guys really need to pay more attention, and get your facts straight. Endless Eight isn't, and never has been, Kyoto Animation's fault. They are animating the show, yes, but the one's telling(read: ordering)them what to make/animate, is Kadokawa Shoten. KyoAni are just doing as they're told. So STOP blaming and hating THEM! Hate Kadokawa! KyoAni are awesome. They brought me Kanon(2006), Air, Clannad, Clannad After Story, and Lucky Star. Haruhi, including the first season, has always come behind those on my ranking system. It's an ok show, but really nothing special, seriously. Clannad is waaaaay better.

I didn't mind the Endless 8. I still watched all 8, and just picked it out the small differences. Plus it kept me on edge, trying to figure out what it was that was causing it.
I respect them for having the balls to do such a thing, because I just knew how the Haruhists would react to it, and now they have the balls to market the DVDs 2 episodes at a time. LOL! And people actually buy them, LOL. Genius; I mean really, to pull such a stunt and then the people still buy it. xDDD
I'd buy them all so I could return them defective for all being the same.

The sales may be horrible for Haruhi, but they're still decent for anime in general. Why WOULDN'T they stock them?

But in this case it should have been two volumes with four episodes each or a special limited collectors edition with all eight endless eights if they wanted it to sell even remotely well.
They should have done "Endless Eight Swimsuit edition" with added scenes.
The first volume sales won't tell the story. Most people recommend watching the first and last volumes. The true tale will be told when all 4 volume sales are added up.
