To some of you people here posting in this thread, what is with the uncalled for bad-mouthing of Hirano Aya(I like to say japanese names with the family name first, like they do when they talk and present themselves, even if they don't write them that way)? Sure, she's not the most accomplished seiyuu out there, and far from the most skilled one, and Haruhi is defenitely what kicked off her career, but it's not her fault the developers of Haruhi decided to ruin the show with Endless Eight and other garbage. She even publically voiced her disgust and opposition to it herself, as did the rest of the cast. Also, her singing is not bad, nor is her voice acting, or even her looks, which some of you seem to think is so incredibly important(when did a seiyuu's looks become her most important attribute to her work as a seiyuu? it's obviously her voice acting that matters the most!). And she plays som great roles besides Haruhi in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. Like Konata in Lucky Star. Hilarious anime, and she plays the role perfectly.
All that wall of BRIX and all he could think of is Fucky Star, how lame was that? And yep, her friggin' voice sucks in both singing and voice acting. The only reason she was popular was thanks to the Moe surge that came out of nowhere ;p
Your lame oppinion is not needed, dickwad. I hate people that slander and criticize people when it's not called for. She's nothing out of the ordinary in any way, but there's nothing wrong with Hirano Aya. Her voice acting is just fine, and from what I can tell from the songs I've heard her sing, like the first OP in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Bouken Desho Desho, and the song God Knows, she sings well too.

well essentially Aya Hirano is like the Paris Hilton of japan without the sex tapes mind you and originally she was a gravure model not a voice actor. Plus her singing voice while preforming live sucks so badly I can't even listen to her concerts on you tube

Wrong. She has done anime seiyuu roles from 13 years old, starting in Shippo no Tenshi. She had occasional anime roles until 2005, whe she became very busy with a lot of anime roles. After she became famous with Haruhi in 2006, she became to pose in gravure, but that hasn`t been very much. She gets filmed an photographed enough in anime and music context.
This is not an apt comparison.
Even at worst, Aya is known for having a job, which probably did not pay particularly well. She speaks at least one language.
Heiress Piltdown is known for a lack thereof, and the tragic attempts at fixing it. She speaks no known language.
I'm not sure how much Aya Hirano nudity the internets can produce, but in her credit, I can say that most of it was probably intentional.

Some reasons as to why I dislike (not hate) Hirano
1. She can't sing
2. Walking around with an undeserved sense of accomplishment
3. Her voice is only good at voicing genki girls, other roles are rather forgettable
4. The character Haruhi gets on my nerves
