A father who turned his 11-year-old daughter into his sex slave, imprisoning and raping her for a period of 30 years and fathering 4 children by her, finally faces prosecution.
The Australian man, in his sixties, is alleged to have begun his abuse in the 1970s, threatening to harm her mother if she did not obey.
He is then said to have imprisoned the girl for 30 years, forcing himself upon her and fathering four children by her.
Prosecutors intend to prove the four children are his with DNA tests.
His wife, who lived with their daughter and “grandchildren,” insists she knew nothing of any of this.
Police and officials have been sparing with information about the case so as not to prejudice the man’s trial, but it is known he will be charged with rape, incest, indecent assault and assault.
Australian authorities have also promised an inquiry into possible failings of child protection services and police, as four years elapsed between the daughter’s first reports and her father’s apprehension.

You are probably correct. In most cases like these, when the daughters get "too old" to be appealing, the father moves on to their daughters. At that point, the original daughter gets MAD at being passe over and no longer the alpha female or the "special" one, and that is when she reports it.
Otherwise, in these cases, they are only caught when something goes wrong and they are taken out for medical care (Fritzl) or because the man finally feels so confident in his control over the girls that he takes them out in public--- and then is "inappropriate" with them (or they with him) in front of other people, who then report them.

I've always thought that it had something to do with the increased chance of genetic defects. It would make sense considering how in various societies and cultures, relationships between cousins aren't frowned upon as much as relationships within the nuclear family or between uncle/niece and aunt/nephew. Incest only has a negligible risk of deformity in the first generation. Women over 40 have a higher risk of deformity than a first generation incest couple.
