I like the UK costume, the India costume and... Mongolia, I think? The one with the scorpion stinger-looking hat and the bow who ISN'T posed like she's about the fire it.

I loved several of them. Once like the one I think belongs to India were simply beautiful.

Then you had Japan's and the opening picture's...

Oh, and there is the pure fail like USA's. I know that the closest we have to ancient mythology is the wild west (this is of course, ignoring the native American culture which most people think of as 'feather headdresses' and is probably better off not being used since we'd butcher it) but a gaudy cowboy getup is more dignified than... than that!

Yeah, I'm just butthurt my county managed to fail in making a costume so badly that it makes the freakshows look better. At least they were interesting.

Now, I'm going to save all of the ones I liked in mass and stare at them all day.

As bizarre as some of these are, Ireland really seems to be the worst to me. It's like they weren't even trying. What I assume to be Egypt(Whole golden wing thing) is my favorite really.

The thought of a national symbol seems to have been lost on a lot of the designers. Lets just throw shit together and have our flag in the middle.

Agreed. I think it would be nice to see them actually design things based off of the spirit of the country. I'd like to see what it is that separates one country's culture from another, not just a pretty dress. Even though they look a little strange in some cases, I like the ones based on mythology because they were interesting, even if eye-boobs are a little creepy.

Egypt's was certainly the best design in both the outfit and incorporating the country's culture as far as I'm concerned. It wasn't my favorite outfit (I'm biased towards the one I suspect to be India, as I love saree) but it was my favorite costume.
