New Mahoromatic Anime Due

Maid ero-moe anime Mahoromatic is being granted an unexpected resurrection in the form of a two part TV special/OVA.
Entitled まほろまてぃっく 特別編 ただいま◆おかえり / Mahoromatic Special Tadaima – Okaeri, the anime marks something of an increase in the fortunes of mangaka Bow Ditama, who also concerns himself with erotic urination and sibling incest.
Airing starts October 17th, with a DVD and BD release to follow. Naturally, the original cast reprise their roles.

Well... This was very unexpected!
Better be Gainax. If it weren't for Gainax, the original Mahoromatic + sequel might as well line up with the other crappy fapservices like Queen's Blade and Juuden.
Gainax fucked Kare Kano and Mahoromatic up. I don't see why anyone defends them other than for idiotic mechas or similar. Though what people don't admit/realize is that they actually JUST like fap material regarding their series.

Is the OVA going to consist of seeing what the reaction of the side characters are like after seeing the main character after so long and Mahoro looking exactly the same after all these years?

Eh, I guess it started with the manga. But Gainax WOULD pick it up.
Anyway, I own one Mahoromatic DVD. It's okay. A lot of it feels kind of animu...ugh I don't know the word for the cheeziness. It reminded me much like Kemeko DX was cringeworthy sometimes.
Mahoro was a cute character and most of her scenes with the male protagonist were cute. And I suppose some of the scenes with the schoolmates were kind of cute. You can tell the action stuff is making fun of action and 'srs' anime, but it doesn't come off as very funny. And it's cool that they have like, a perverted teacher who's female for once. But I didn't like how they Gainaxed her and gave her the stereotypical "hot for teacher" hourglass figure and demeanor.
I feel dirty when I watch Mahoromatic, and not in a good, sexual way.
Though I don't regret buying the DVD. It has it's moments.

This will be awesome provided 1. it isn't faggoted up with moe shit, and 2. they completely remove Mima from the equation.
Remove Mima and Mahoromatic season 2 is great. With no Mima there'd be plenty of room to adequately prepare for the ending instead of just slapping it out.

I haven't read the manga, but "plot consistency/continuity" wasn't paid much attention to in the anime.
My friends and I thought the 2nd season ending sucked -- we were stunned.
I thought (and still do) that Mahoromatic should have been split into three storylines:
* the humorous
* the ecchi
* the serious
I was annoyed when I watched this series, because I wanted to follow the serious plot line, and it was continually interrupted by the other two.
I do like some fan service, just not mixed in with the serious plots (partly 'cause it's distracting, partly because I'd like to show the 'serious' plotlines to female friends whom I know would be embarrassed or annoyed or upset by the male-oriented fan service).
Serious part really svcks...

The serious part had great potential, but the staff (writers, etc.) fucked it up big time.
It was ** AS IF ** they had a meeting which went like this:
(Staffer A): "Deadline in 16 hours! We gotta come up with something for this week's episode!"
(Staffer B): "We could...(describes plot idea)..."
(Staffer C): "How do we make that fit with the first 'n' episodes?"
(Staffer A): "I don't care! We don't care! We just gotta get it done. Fuck consistency!"

awesome. I just finished the 2nd season a week ago and the ending never felt quite right to me. But more Mahoro is always fine by me.

Meh. If there's one series GAINAX absolutely needs to redo, it's Kare Kano. Otherwise, I'd rather have them work on new stories and never come back to them ever again.
They don't need to 'redo' Kare Kano, they need to fucking FINISH it, instead of what they did do, which was to simply quit making episodes.
I went out and bought a bunch of Kare Kano manga to find out "the rest of the story."
Gainax isn't allowed to touch Kare Kano anymore. The author did not like what they did with it, and as I understand it she no longer gave her consent for them to do any more seasons of it.
Yea Gainax pissed the mangaka off. This is why the ending episodes were full of still images. Just another series they fucked up, which in my opinion, includes the "current" anime "ending" of Mahoromatic.
