Acclaimed PS2 RPG Persona 3 has been given a surprise adaptation to the PSP, along with some interesting changes.
The port is due November 1st 2009, and will feature a number of changes, the most notable of which is that the protagonist will be a female instead of the previous male.
Additionally, an entirely new character is promised, looking to be a male version of Elizabeth; some gameplay additions in the form of new difficulty levels are also promised.
Whether this will incorporate the Fes expansion is not clear…

i don't know why they're doing this so soon. and adding in new characters just changes the continuity of the storyline too much which is a little annoying. i don't have a psp anyway so its not like it matters.
Nooooo, well... enough, from what I can see on the images, they gave a lot of attention to the female character, but, the male character is still in there (and I just saw some other information and it says you'll be able to choose your gender), so, we should be able (I hope) to use some option so we can choose our MC gender, and I'm sure they will add an "enhanced" version of the original music. And as you can see an slightly cooler version of the original MC.

I would assume so since jrpgs are staunchly anti-gay. Female MCs can look forward to dating Akihiko, Shinjiro, Junpei, Kenji, and maybe even Ken (maybe not "dating" but an onee-chan type thing.)
I think the biggest change would be how it'll completely change the dynamic of the group. The MC being a girl would not be hanging out with Junpei and Akihiko, but with Mitsuru, Yukari, and Fuuka. Alot of scenes will need to be rewritten to suit a female MC. It'll be almost a whole new game.

But if MC gets knocked out, the game is still over even if you're controlling a character with Recarm.
I´m still waitig for the PS3upgrade so that I can finaly play the Persona series, but that is just as great.

I wound up double-checking the Japanese wikis in response to the revelation that Aigis was listed as XX, to figure out how I wound up thinking Aeon was listed as XXII, and it only made things more confusing, with Judgment as 20 and Aeon as XX. Apologies for the mistake, but I really would argue that the main character of 3 is more akin to Judgment than The World.

It actually makes a lot of sense to use a variant of Judgment for the lead of Persona 3: Much like the lead of Persona 4's "final form" was The World, the lead of Persona 3's "final form" was Judgment.

Then take a look at her Persona and her role in the story, and the requirement of her being of which Tarot to be able to fit in that role.

Persona 3 was already a fairly big game, with P3Fes being that much bigger, and that was on a full DVD.
That, coupled with the fact the Atlus guys are lazy and insist on their dubs, the chance of a voice selection getting even programmed in, is already low much less just the idea that the voice clips will even fit onto the dumb UMD (unless they use multiple ones?).
In all likelihood, this version will have a lot of the dialogue that was available in the original stripped of sound, so there might not even be a difference worth arguing about.
English Dubs are ALWAYS fail unless they feature Patrick Stewart.

To be honest guys The dub was alright nothing special, also to be honest UNDUB -ing is very popular atm like with Tales of Eternia and crisis core etc so not long after english release expect some kind people with the know how to change the voices of the english game into jap along with the video's etc -_^.
Either that or someone will patch the jap version. Gonna need yourselves a Hacked PSP for either of those though i'm afraid
