Top selling visual novel and anime Shuffle! has finally received a full and uncensored English language release.
Shuffle!, creator Navel’s first and best known release, takes the form of a romantic school comedy with strong supernatural overtones and a suitably well developed cast.
The game, which itself sold very well on its release in 2004, spawned a significant mixed media franchise, with two sequels, a console adaptation, two manga and two (Asread) anime, along with a slew of light novels (no less than seven), drama CDs and so on.
The introductory blurb, below, hints at the supernatural theme and typically convoluted branching storyline which are the game’s hallmarks:
In a certain complex of ruins, two gates have opened.
On the other side lie the world of the Gods and the world of the Devils.
These three worlds are now connected, and this causes a big change in society.
This story is set in a certain city located in a certain country.
A certain boy lives in this city. One day, two new families move into the houses neighboring his. The new residents turn out to be the King of the Gods and the King of the Devils. Both of them have moved in next to the boy’s house by request of their respective daughters, who fell in love with him at an early age.
Many years ago, when the boy was still a child, he had a chance encounter with each of the girls. Their meeting was brief at best, but the girls took it to heart and kept the memory alive until this day.
The stage is set for a story that involves the boy’s childhood friend as well as others around him. It is a tale of hardship and despair, but also one of faint hope. It is a tale of a boy who, to quote his cynical friend, is capable of becoming either God, Devil or Man.

Primula is a pain to get. It's a kind of secret character, her path only unlocks once you've done all of the other girls and gotten all the other endings.
But it's worth it.

"Most" being only the first ones. Da Capo, Kira Kira and Suika got pretty good translations.
KiraKira was quite well translated, and I'd definitely recommend it. Edelweiss was fairly poorly done, although still playable. Haven't tried their other titles.

MangaGamer doesn't do that stuff. There was plenty of loli in Suika, and nothing happened to it. The reason that one remained uncensored is that Circus didn't have uncensored CGs.

The ears kill it for me. It's not even the cool 80's/early 90's pointed upward elf ears like Iczer-1 or Rei from Phantasy Star 4.

They differ from a Yandere in that a Yandere is generally "touched" from the beginning by some deep-rooted psychological issues, but a Yangire goes nuts from a trigger, usually jealously or being otherwise provoked by the other characters.

The censor in Family Project was only because the story made it clear in the narrative that that one heroine was underage until a certain point in the game. They censored the art rather than edit the story; they couldn't on the one hand claim "all characters are all 18+" if the story itself contradicts that point. The story in Shuffle doesn't have this sort of contradiction, so there's no reason to censor it.

Actually, it wasn't made 'clear' at all. But the way JAST chose to adapt it made them force her to be explicitly underage and thus the censoring, which is just really, really dumb on their part.

For those who've played it, how long is it? Is there story good?
100% clear will probably takes you 8-10 hours, depends on how fast you read. I'll say the story is fairly good, has some comic reliefs and emotional moments. Not as good as 君が望む永遠 but it's close. The real selling point is art featuring Nishimata Aoi and Suzuhira Hiro(I like her better than Nishimata, too bad she seems to get sick alot). Even though the game is a bit dated, the artwork is very good compared to newer releases. This game got my seal of approval. I would get Tick! Tack! and Really? Really! too for some side stories.

i have been lurking mangagamer for two months waiting for this. will be buying ASAP.
Shuffle made me rage because there were no lesbian or threesome scenes (the pics above with two girls are from the spinoff games and even then you don't see them doing anything to each other in those scenes).
Why would that make you rage? Sure it may be a bit disappointing, but it's not like they got raped by some other guy or some shit like that.
I guess it didn't make me rage, but I can only jack off to those scenes so to not have one made me hate the game because it wasn't very "useful" to me.
