PS3 Slim in Pictures

The flood of rumours about Sony’s apparently imminent PS3 Slim and PS3 Cheap are reaching a crescendo, with the latest cover of a Hong Kong gaming rag (supposedly reputable) the most recent in a long line of apparent leaks and concept designs.
The speculative date for a formal announcement is at German expo Gamescom on the 18th of August, with a September release being anticipated.

I don't understand the reason behind this. Seems pretty pointless to me, when you're just going to leave the PS3 lying around somewhere in your house.
Making a PSP slimmer makes sense since you're carrying it around, and that you also have to hold it in your hands. Why people care if their console is slim is beyond me.

Artist concepts are always so far from the actual product. I remember when some idiot imagined the X-box to be a 3 foot tall, fully three-dimensional replica of the letter 'x'. And he wasn't too far off actually.
The Control Data Corporation 6600- and 7600-series supercomputers had an "X" shape, but they were more like six feet tall...

Number 8 looks like the only real upgrade in my opinion since its actually smaller shorter and slimmer.
The standard flat shape of that one would also be a huge upgrade over the current round style.

LOL, picture 9 controller look so fragile that it can break with intense gaming. Number 8 look like it came from another world.
they should just make the same style as a mini tower desktop. #7 would cost alot of settlement agreement in court with the nintendo company. #5 look the ideal model but you paid for just the showcase. #9 i think it would be good in the future but for now it look like those clock with the fishbowl next to it. #8 is kinda close to xbox 360 except for the bottom part.
