Well of course the Test Plugsuit is Asuka centric. Because she was the ONLY character who wore the original test plugsuit in the 2.0 movie. The other girls Test plugsuits are just fanart renditions.

It's probably rather difficult to find a transparent material that doesn't make you sweat underneath. Maybe some very thin silk-like fabric would do, but they're only half transparent and not as clear as the original test plugsuit's material.
There is such a thing as clear rubber. Slap some clear gloss paint and boom you got yourself a plugsuit.
