PS3 Stops Shipping

Whenever the price goes down for the PS3, I'll consider getting one, but right now, nope. Most of the games for the PS3 don't interest me at the moment, anyways.

Yay! Finally! Now I can buy a brand new PS3 =) Just til' now I've been buying only the games... 'Cause I like 'em aged, like good ol' Scotch whiskey XD

It's pretty flipping obvious if Sony is requesting the retailers to remove the Original designed systems that the slim is a coming.

About time. I bought a PS3 back when they first released it for 600 dollars. I had the money then. I bought DMC for it. I bought it though for a variety of reasons my PS2 had recently been dropped and broken unable to play movies or games so it became worthless. I did not own a dvd player or blue-ray player. I also had some 40+ ps2 and 20 PS1 games that I had either played and liked or had not yet managed to beat. The fact that some of my favorite series are usually only with the playstation also favored in my choice. The other thing that factored into my choice of system is the fact that the 360 had been out for quite a while and as an employee at a gaming store I had learned quite well that the 360 had more problems and the red ring of death was becoming more and more likely. The recent release promising it wouldn't have it didn't interest me. I was also never a fan of halo or shooters in general. Blue dragon looked childish and the only game I was slightly interested in even now is Tales of Vesperia (getting a PS3 release), Star Ocean 4 (likely will have a PS3 release), Mass Effect (also available on the PC), and Lost odyssey. I could rarely care less though. I bought my PS3 for the blue-ray/dvd player, ps2 and ps1 backwards compatibility, and free online networking not to mention Disgaea 3 and a few others that have not yet been released. If the 360 would have given me all of the above with no extra fees. Hell if it would of offered the same price for all the above I probably would have bought a ps3 instead. However it didn't. The 360 first came out with faulty systems (red ring), the best of the systems back when the ps3 was also released was the elite which sold for 470 without a dvd player (and the now obsolete hd-dvd player was about 60 dollars extra), it did not offer backwards compatibility for any of the old xbox games, it cost money to go online, and it did not have a few of my favorite games. To be perfectly honest the only good ps3 release so far is the 60 GB. It was the only one worth the price. If I had to choose between a 360 and PS3 with the specs both systems have now and with the fact I currently have a working dvd player, I'd choose a 360 as it is currently the better deal. This new GB PS3 if it has everything the previous 60 GB did then it might actually become the better buy yet again even if they raise the price slightly.

I'm sticking with my GameCube+PC. Tales of Symphonia's all I need. That, and older girlfriend. =D.

ive only read posts boastin 60gb but wat bout 160gb ps3s? am i like the only one 2 have one

I wonder if this new slim model will cost them more or save them more in the long run.

anyway, id admit that the first xbox's hardware is alot better than second xbox 260.. 160?? (remind me i forgot its name cos its not worth remembering). i think the original xbox engineer were genious since no problems occured. and i think theyre better engineer than sony's because sony cant damn fix the problems of ps2 despite of revision. however, i think it got around on this gen console. m$ hired some moronic engineer on their new console xbox360 (i remember it now) and sony hired gud engineers on the ps3.

Ever hear the expression; "Buy no book under a year old"? Well, I'm like that for video games. Wait a few years, then for the "Entry Level" price you can get the system, a few accessories, and a sh-t load of games.

I literally, for US$100, bought the system, several controllers and those mini-computer cards, and a bunch of incredible games. $100, no kidding. Had a dozen games, and I then spent around $50 getting more over a year...

Got stolen from my apartment...bites... Not that I don't have more games and might eventually get those back either.

And what I had people were buying for US$1000 total price (games, controllers, console) so I got a good use, even counting the loss by theft...

Wow, yea ps3 blows....the hardware is just shit. The design..so flawed... Where the fuck have you been? After the plague that was going around blowing up xbox's there were hardly and ps3's, or even Wii's ever crapping out. Why support a tard company trying to milk more money. IMO you dont try to all of a sudden start making a console when you specialize in a different area. "Hmmm" says the microsoft big wigs. "Lets try and compete against two of the heavy hitters of console makers that have survived through all the other crap, whilst other companies bit the bullet, that sounds easy!"
Then the 360 comes out, then about 60%+ start to die out. Instead of upgrading the hardware for it, lets just keep extending the warranty, that's what makes the 360 desirable. I'm glad the warranty is there...thats the only reason I bought it... -.-
I have not wasted any of my time with the 360 after watching the majority of my college buddys crap box's die one after another. I couldn't believe that crap. Here I just saved up for a computer, and behold, almost all of the good titles could be found on the computer anyways, weird. Also a good chunk of the titles that were being put out for xbox came out for the ps3 as well O.o
