1 out of every 4 men are suffering from mental sickness? That must be a hell of a head cold then.

Almost as prevalent as vagrant bigotry. Have you seen your doctor lately :P

“Sexual Arousal and Arousability to Pedophilic Stimuli in a Community Sample of Normal Men”, Nagayama Hall, Hirschman & Oliver, Behavior Therapy 26, 681-694, 1995

Physiological desires are another category of behavioral influence that does not necessarily dictate one’s actual behavior. According to one study by Nagayama Hall, Hirschman & Oliver, more than 25% of normal men exhibited penile arousal to heterosexual pedophilic stimuli that was equal or greater to their arousal from heterosexual adult stimuli. This is a conservative figure for the objective of this document, as the study did not include homo-erotic stimuli or adolescent stimuli, bringing the likely ratio of males presently functioning on a normal level in society who nevertheless experience erotic thoughts about minors considerably higher than one out of every four. The study then went on to empirically confirm that “…arousal to pedophilic stimuli does not necessarily correspond with pedophilic behavior”.

What this substantive category of people need is a venue to convert these impulses into a more socially acceptable form. Prurient fiction [context note for SanCon post: such as 2D lolicon] is the only available means to sublimate sexual impulses without actually committing them, and is therefore too necessary an element of societal health to suddenly and aimlessly prohibit. Without fantasy to expel the taboo-breaking impulses of at least one out of every four men, what remains?

By all means Miroku, visit here and please voice that opinion in detail. Read our document (5 pages currently, 15 sources from respectable scientific journals and authors), note where you think it could be misinterpreted and why, and we’ll try and come up with better angles.

I think you might be on to something.

“The Diet’s session ran out of time, it’s unfortunate but this session we may not get the ban. … To all the members, I know you’ll be busy with the election, but when you get back I want for you to start once more.” Does this prospect annoy you? I’ve co-written a letter detailing our side of this matter as best as I was able (it may continue evolving, but it is in a printable/sendable state currently). Unfortunately it is only available currently in English. We do need it translated into …

Regarding the redhead’s shirt, CCCP or the other CCCP? These are internet-based otaku after all.

  • Bioware: “JRPGs are Stagnant”:
Bioware would have been better off if they’d actually taken a lesson from JRPG’s stagnancy and had a good look at their own concept of “evolving”. The farther they’ve taken things from BGII + Throne of Bhaal, the blander their material has been.

Right, I wasn’t paying attention. Now that I saw the whole thing from start to finish, it’s obvious they were animated 3D models. The broomstick flying looked so natural in the begining it clouded my viewing comprehension : But the transitions in particular along with some of the miscellaneous bits (like those smiles) were probably done using vectors. Like you say.

My guess is he used Twixtor Pro for either Premiere or Vegas. You can draw motion at only a few frames per second, and then have the program generate in-between frames using vector processing to smooth it out. After X number of passes you’ll have zero duplicate frames within whatever FPS your project is in (so 60 unique frames of motion in a 60 FPS project). Similarly, you can convert NTSC (29.97 FPS) into Double-NTSC (59.94 FPS) to give footage that super smooth look. Only a guess though. – …
