Considering where I live a PS3 costs $600 whereas an X-box costs $220, and that the games of the former never fall below $75-$100, compared to $8-$60 for the latter, I think you can see which one I'd avoid purely for the rip-off prices...
the games for the ps3 range from 40 to 60 not any higher. also the 520 is going to be released in about a year and a half...probably.

I find my PS3 collecting dust lately as the titles released for it have been mostly either craptastic or overpriced.
Pretending the article didn’t stretch the idea of pantsu, this wouldn’t give any more reason to buy the game than it already has. As someone who owns the beta version I do plan on repurchasing the game for the PS3. There are just far too many upgrades and extra features to turn down. I’ll admit at first I was thinking I shoulda waited since I only got my copy just a few months ago but now it doesn’t matter anymore. I didn’t care about Patty at first but have since gotten use to her and look forward to playing as her. However, what lies up her shirt I could care less about. She probably is just wearing shorts anyways since the whole idea of not wearing pants seems a little odd outside of Strike witches.

Hey, if this was Final Fantasy, perhaps I could understand trying to hammer in a nail to 360 owners' hearts, but it's Tales for fuck sake, and it's not even as good as Blue Dragon, which was rather 'meh' considering the names involved.
My advice; buy a 360 (cheap as chips these days plus 3 year warrenty incase it dies on you) to sit alongside your PS3, thus enjoying all these JRPG's you're either missing out on or waiting a year to play at full price just because an annoying loli character is added to the mix.

Yeppers. While Microsoft swept the table last year, '09-'10 will be richer for Sony in terms of exclusives (and ports with bonus swag). Microsoft's '10 doesn't seem filled with games, though. This is a great chance for Sony to sell the console.
It wasn't too long ago when I wasn't expecting much from the PS3 and played my 360 the most. Now, I have reason to play the PS3 a lot more. Hopefully Sony can keep it up.

The main thing that gripes me about JRPGs on the 360 is that the 360 is essentially a Windows Games machine but in an even closed platform box. Knowing the only Japanese PC gamers are eroge gamers, getting the full J-gaming experience one HAS to have a console, and that usually meant something easily accessible to third party developers, such as the original Playstation and Playstation 2. During the first wave of Namco Bandai Xbox exclusives was really a dark time. I was like, WTF, you guys didn't even make games for Windows (I really craved for non-eroge J-games for the PC which weren't doujinshi), but NOW of all times you support an even more inaccessible Microsoft platform?
At least now I feel vindicated in the investment of my heart.

Most xbox games have or will be ported to PC, reason is because its easy they used directx 9x, a varient of dx9c, more area for profits ftw. The Ps3 really doesnt benefit from games yet since most are cross-platform and they have to do more work to get full use of the ps3 BDs. Exclusives are exceptions.
You seemed to have forgotten the fact that most RPG companies aren't made of money. The fact that only giants like square and namco bandai (as of recently) are able to produce at least some profit from the PS3 is the reason PS3 lags behind in the RPG genre.
I'm sorry, but loyalty issues have nothing to do with it. Companies aren't lame ass fanboys, so they won't waste money on developing for a non profiting platform.
Bluray is simply too expensive for developers as compared to DVD, and most RPG developers aren't up to the graphical standards of sony's game standards. Which is why ATLUS is still developing for the PS2 and Wii, because sony simply won't give the smaller companies a break. Xbox at least, is a reasonable console to consider when developing an RPG or 2D platformer. They have much more lax rules on "game standards" than sony does, which is why the arcade and game library is one of the largest as of now.
This sums up what really sucks this gen. All the devs who could have just released the usual DirectX Win/ OpenGL Mac/Linux game instead decided to shell out thousands of dollars for dev kits, to release games that customers would have to shell out hundreds of dollars for the console to play them.
I used to be a PC gamer. Now with former PC devs going the console route, I'm stuck with casual games.
Anon is right about most of them being PCs now. But, PS3 uses openGL and 360 uses DX. Really, I could careless either way as long as I have good games to play on everything.
All consoles are basically PCs these days, except perhaps the Wii. The PS3 is just as much of a PC as the 360 is on the inside, so saying the PS3 is a console and the 360 isn't comes across as patently ridiculous.
I'm like both, but your reasoning for liking the PS3 more is a good one. Also, I'm with you on wanting some JRPGs on the computer. Being able ot play some of them anywhere would definitely allow me to finish more.

I'm starting to get a little old seeing Artefact post the same old 'BETA TESTERS CRY OVER NEW CONTENT' type post with an extremely Sony biased attitude.
