But yes, I definitely understand. I know it's a reinvisioning and I know that the original will always still be there but... I automatically bristle a bit when I think about Mari. I'm conflicted because I really don't want to hate an Eva character but Mari and this new Rebuild movie fuck with so much of what was already established and Mari smacks so much of Marysue-dom that my inner eva-fag doesn't know how to handle it at times.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed Anno's setting us all up for another big mindfuck. That'll make everything worth it.

Following the original storyline. the school of Shinji was filled with Posible Eva pilot candidates, if i remenber well. So what if was finded another pilot.

It's not like they've ever been able to coherently deliver the complete storyline. I personally don't care how much more they fuck around with it. I honestly get more enjoyment reading the plot synopsis on wiki pages than I do actually watching the anime and its many revisions.

She is. Mari has two different plugsuits - a traditional one (the pink) and the green one that you're referring to. Having not seen it yet myself, I'm not completely sure how this is justified in the movie (except that Mari-sue is a SUPER SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE character :|) ..I'm sure there's SOME reason.

She uses the green one in Unit 05 which requires a special interface becaus of its many mechanical parts, and the pink one in unit 2. But other characters ( i.e. Asuka) are also shown wearing other plugsuits when they get into other evas.

So I'm not the only one who liked the green one better... But hey, Mari can even make pink look badass. The whole thing is screaming "I'm a girl with large boobs who wears girly, pink clothes. So what? I still kick major Ass."

You're not making much sense here. I'm pretty sure moe effects are cumulative and that they do not cancel each other out.

Rebuils was made by the same ppl who made the original Eva, and Anno even said that Rebuild was to be EVA as "it was intended to be" so shut up about professionalism, you know that Anno always has and allways will put his whole soul into EVa. Mari didn't ruin anything. She is badass, awesome and has an unique, non-stereotypical personality. Eva allways lacked a character like her.

Then go watch the sheer awsomeness of "You can (not) advance" and see how it tops everything in the original series. Anno said he wanted to create something better than the original EVA - and he succeeded.
