Japanese people are offended? Your cute since I speak Japanese it was interesting to find how much I was insulted while visiting Japan. Pro tip insulting someone to their face when you don't know if they can speak your language or not is far from smart and is liable to result in you getting kerb stomped.

I found the video hilarious if offensive people are just too thin skinned these days.

As for whaling well most species are critically threatened and fill important biological niches so it's probably best to not be hunting them.
All kinds of bad stuff would happen to the fish stocks if there were no sperm whales for example.
Giving up eating whales would be a small price to pay to shut the racists up.
