A list of Japanese gamers’ most anticipated video games has revealed them to consist of a not entirely unexpected slew of oppai groping eroge, RPGs, visual novels and the odd western game or sad anime tie-in.
The full list is below:
The chart was compiled by Gamaga magazine and features unreleased titles from all the major platforms, saving the PC, which in Japan is a polite euphemism for enjoying loli tentacle raep and other fetishes too brazen even for Sony.

The majority of people that subscribe to that shit in Japan are RPG otaku, Sony Fanboys, and people who think with their dicks... which I guess is the majority of their hardcore market anyways. :P But this list rarely reflects what games end up being successful, or the most successful.

most WANTED, as in most "anticipated". The games don't have to even have anything but it's title announced to be on this list. In fact, I'm pretty sure any main FF and DQ immediately shoots its way to the top of this list as soon as it's announced.

Japan lacks in the hardcore games/so the Japanese hardcore gamers are left out.

The japanese games market is gradually going down the shitter. For every top budget, world wide anticipated title like final fantasy or metal gear there is a few thousand shitty, low budget, annoyingly voiced ps2 schoolgirl dating/raping games (most of which are censored versions of pc games).
Japanese gaming industry is horribly xenophobic. They need to open their eyes to the gems made in the west. The japanese industry is gradually turning into 3 or 4 decent titles a year and a mountain of low budget otaku orientated shit.
What the hell are you talking about? The Japanese produced both types of games almost equally, this list just lists down the Top 30 games that their gamers want to own/play, not 30 games that they will be (only) focussing on. To be honest, the Japanese games industry are more balanced than what you guys have there in the west where pointless & messy strategy and same old FPS war games are like here and there.

It's not always about Xenophobia, the west just doesn't tend to make the kinds of games that most Japanese people want to play, ever think of that?? Calling all the rescent western best sellers as "gems" is totally just an opinion, I personally haven't found much to like out of those games because they don't appeal to me. I like a few western games, but it's hard to say that the western industry consist of much more than shooting games or sports games with better graphics and physics, or online MMOs and strategy games, and other genres you just come to expect from them. Both industries are practically stuck in a loop, but what can they do when taking risks and trying something new usually ends up in an unfortunate fail. It's only the outside thinking of the wii, like it or not, that's getting the industry to grow as far as economy and userbase is concerned, beyond what the industry already consists of... that's why the other two are starting to follow suit as well, and it's upsetting a lot of traditional players who don't like what the Wii is doing and had always praised Sony and Microsoft from avoiding that route.
