Not scared in the least. Major boner happening.
Rei only looks masculine because of the muscle structure of her shoulders, a bit more angular than that of most girls. Also, her chin is a bit more squarish than norm.
But I think this suits her well, considering that Rei gives off that "weak but still strong" kind of vibe. The visible collar bones show how slim (skinny = weak) she seems but the strong jaw suggests a hidden inner strength.
All in all, wonderful cosplay! =D

i don't know its either or something but it looks like i can see the jaw line for rei and that looks like a guy's expression for rei so i am a little disturbed but either than that i enjoyed the cosplay

I'm going to take a shot in the dark here (as I can't find any recent surveys of this to confirm it) and guess that Japan likely has the highest number of cosplayers world-wide. That said, Japanese cosplayers...tend to be Japanese.

Damn good cosplaying. Why is it, ppl never have anything nice to say? I realize that this is the internet, and everyone is ruthless...but get off ur fucking high horses and lets see u do better.
i can't do better, but i do feel entitled to my fear of this. true that's only a first impression and there have been many a time that my initial reactions to a cosplay were overturned. let's hope that happens and whatever's bugging me out about this turns into what i like about it.

i dont think asuka smiling would have done very well, with the pics, you can visibly see the discrepency between the characters and thier cosplayers personalities, i mean first of all, asuka and rei didnt get along well enough to get that close to each other, well rei wouldnt really care, asuka on the other hand.....

Midori Kanda does great cosplay, but in many cases it would look better if untouched by digital hands. Less anime-like but also less disturbing...3D is 3D after all.

The costumes are based on the artwork from a calendar, and they are beautiful. What with the face?
These are actually based on the outfits they wear in a set of the figures. The calendar outfits are different (though quite lovely as well. I can't say I've ever seen anyone cosplay those... what a shame.)
...Ah. I should clarify a bit. I assumed you were talking about the 2008 Calendar, correct? I'm referring to the figures based on separate artwork - at least in Asuka's case. (I'm not sure if Rei's was originally artwork as well, or just tailored to go with Asuka.) That said, I don't recall having seen those images being used in any calendar?
