  I think Ayumu’s ”more feminine look” in the old version makes her look prettier. Or…it might be just me though(I also like Chiyo-chan’s old pigtails).

  Agree with this totally. Also, even if the characters seem “simplified,” the backgrounds and compositions are undeniable better. Especially in the “joke punchlines” comparison, the new one gives a better illusion of depth, and a more complex background by actually drawing in the classroom.

  Maybe the 3D is not to blame for that, though, maybe it’s just the same reason was why Kiske has a pony tail now, it’s to show that the characters have aged/changed over time since the last game.

  3D celshading is just a tool, the style is still completely the same as previous games… most people didn’t even notice it was 3D until the camera effect
