The example you gave is not manly tears, thanking god isn't manly tears. Just because someone is crying it does not mean they are manly. Please do not just assume your definition is correct.

I can't say I speak for everyone when I say this, but for the most part manly tears can be defined as when something so amazing/significant/tragic has occurred that the user is compelled to cry. However, the tears that are cried are not labeled as sissy or bitch tears due to the nature of the even that has triggered said tears. The tears should come from the soul and show that the person crying is deeply moved by what has happened.

Examples of cases where one might cry manly tears is after watching a character die in a glorious, heroic death to save loved ones, or even watching someone come to the end of a long journey and come across some large revaluation, the nature of which could move them deeply.

I hope this has been a thoroughly educating experience for you all, and god willing none of you will ever misuse the term "Manly tears" ever again.
