NicoNico Miku-Mania Drives Project Diva Sales

Hatsune Miku’s long awaited PSP debut, entitled Project Diva and due at the end of the month, has spurred the population of NicoNico Douga into a veritable buying frenzy, with some 3,500 Nico-goers having already made their pre-orders, an impressive number considering sales of this kind of game are usually modest.
This may of course bear no small connection to the fact that the success of NicoNico Douga is intimately bound up with the Hatsune Miku boom, and it seems neither could long survive without the other…
Of course, cunning Miku-marketing seems also to have no small effect here.

I need to buy this now!!!!
Time for me to buy a PSP. Another reason to buy one XDD
Mmmm, I do want this game. I suspect I'd see Idolmaster first on these shores, though, if you get my drift.
I'm ONE of those who predorderd.
(I want that Miku on a pillow)
me too!!
Hey, I like Miku (and the other Vocaloids), but...
Not all Miku PVPs are good.
Not all Miku animations are good.
Not all Miku still-art is good.
Not all Miku figurines or dolls are good.
Given that ...
Why would anyone assume that a particular Miku _game_ is any good before they ever play it -- particularly when there's a strong incentive for companies to quickly make some crappy Miku-related thing and make some fast bucks (yen) off it?!
Why would any (sane) person per-order an un-known game? How fucking stupid is that?!
....
Oh, yeah. 「けいーおん!」 / みよ. The mindless zombie hordes: "Musssst get kawaii thingggggggs ...."
Nevermind.
Hey, I like rhythm games and it's not like this game is story driven or anything, so it can't go that wrong. As long as it's got the rhythm element to it, I'm pretty satisfied. Plus, the game-play videos seem pretty good, too. Doesn't seem like it's something Sega just pulled out of their derriere.
Oh, and it's 澪(みお) from K-on! (けいおん!)...
Have you seen the latest PV for the game? Any fan of Vocaloid would get excited about all the work and content being put into it. 39 songs, 39 costumes, all of the Vocaloid characters will be present in the game (minus Gacktpoid... but who cares).
Perhaps the best feature of all will be the ability to import mp3s and make your own dance/beats to go along with it. I'm sure it won't take long for people to start making up for all the songs that were left out by customizing them on their own.

I pre-ordered the special edition. Comes with a Miku nendroid.
... there is no special edition... all pre-orders come with the nendroid...

And I've pre-ordered the accesory set too.
Idk... I was consider buying the accessory set too, but then after much contemplation, I've concluded that the set wasn't worth the $40.
and order a cosplay set even if youre a guy lawl.
Better order the shirt too.
I can't help wonder if this'll get a sequel starring one of the other Vocaloids. They'd be foolish not to make it. As to who would be the best bet for a starring role, we'll have to wait and see if the newbie GUMI ends up dethroning my beloved Luka once in the hands of NicoNico users.
(She friggin' better not.)
Well Luka, Haku, Neru, Len, and Rin are all already confirmed in the game.
I'm curious as to how big their roles will be. Will they be unlockable WATCH ME DANCE INSTEAD characters, or maybe just cameos in individual songs/minigames?
Kaito too?
No Gackpoid, not interested.
Once again, Miku saves the day! YAY!

This comes as no surprise. Miku's marketing as well as many other, smaller, yet just as significant aspects has made her one of the most adored characters. 3,500 preorders can surely be considered a top-notch number for a game with such circumstances, little chance is for her to disappoint, even with the recent downfall of PSP game quality.
Well, consider that I already pre-ordered the game even though I do not own a PSP says something about the devotion of Miku fans.
Yes, I bought a PSP after I preordered Diva
I was thinking about that too... then I heard about the PSP Go, and then, I was waiting for E3. Now, after hearing the new specs, I am thinking of just getting the PSP-3000... but then idk, if they improve drastically on the battery life and solve the UMD-to-digital conversion problem, I might consider buying the PSP Go.
I mean, there's still a little less than a month for me to decide, right? July 2nd!!
@Geerie: Wouldn't having Diva on the Go be just a problem of digitally distributing the game?... the UMD-to-digital conversion thing I was referring to was more along the lines of, "I have physical copies of the games right now, how am I suppose to play it on the Go?" If I can't have Diva on the Go though, I would just get the PSP-3000...
@Keirnoth: Yah, I realize you can't run custom firmware on the new 2000 and the 3000 models... and it most likely will take a while before the Go gets cracked. Owell, maybe I should be legit. For once. Hahahaha.
the psp go isnt a replacement for the psp 3000 theyre still making umd games for the 3000 the go is more targeted toward media users and those who rarely play games on it. theres a huge chance diva wont be made for the go.
basilio - Don't forget that newer versions of the PSP-2000 and PSP-3000 (and presumably Go) won't be able to run Custom Firmware either.
If you want to save money you may want to get the older PSP hardware.
Already preordered 3 months ago~
Weeeell...
If anyone had'd noticed, the preorder with the neoroid puchi has been over 3 weeks ago so....
aint it abit too late for it.?
I won't be surprised if they make a full blown console game featuring all the loids, Idolm@ster style.
Another case for my study on viral marketing efficiency and effectiveness.

Not a surprise, if you seen the trailer, you will want to buy the game.
I saw the trailer and was put off.
Game looks like a rip-off of the DS' Ouendan/EBA games, except it defeats the purpose of touching each beat, you have to simply tap buttons when each beat comes along.
Further proof most licensed games end up being mediocre.
Fans aren't buying this for the gameplay.
Beatmania charm; people will submit levels of Vocaloid original musics to keep us all playing.
what!?
i thought this is an adventure game and not rhythm...
wait need research
maybe i'll try if it's a rhythm~ skip if adventure, can't understand >_<
