Darker Than Black 2nd TV Season Confirmed

Plans for a new Darker Than Black animation were strongly hinted at in the infamous Bones animator list that was leaked to the public last year, but it is now official – a continuation to Darker Than Black was revealed in the latest Young GanGan magazine.
The eventual announcement of the new Full Metal Alchemist series referred to in the list did much to help the list’s credibility as a real internal document; this latest news only serves to strengthen that conviction, much to the delight of fans of this supernatural action series.

As always, there are no further details available at this stage, but the announcement is as clear as can be: the 2007 TV series (and 2008 OVA) will be receiving a new TV Anime continuation.

The show was actually one of the most popular from 2007.
Only reason it wasn't even more successful in the fansub community is because people expected more action than what was offered.
Personally it was one of my fav since it had a great set of characters, great plot and a nice balance between action and mature themes.
Great news to see a sequel is in the making.
The best part was the intrigues going on between contractors and between contractors and the Kirihara team.
And then there's the fight scenes which, while some powers were shown, showcases MORE SMOOTH FIGHTING SKILLS! It's really cool seeing how creatively Hei uses his electric powers and combine it with martial arts and grappling hook (dagger?).

I loved the first season to pieces, and watched the lot in one go after I dl'ed it, so I was really hoping to see some more YinxHei! I really hope they get it together this time! Yin can start to grow into her human feelings more and Hei can care again! ^_^

As much as how people say that this show is full of talk, and less action as to what it's supposed to be, I'd still be rooting to see the second season.

Darker Than Black is substancial yet fluid, with the trademark "feeling" of Bones. Bones are for people who use their brains~ Definitely a must-watch!

Yes, the fighting scenes are just awesome and the story is pretty cool. What seem to be a turnoff for some is that this is a action drama, and tend to lean towards drama. Human emotion is a strong subject in it.

Putting that aside, this is some mighty fine news. I enjoyed the first season so as long as the second season maintains at least some of what made the first season great, then we should have something nice going on. Though the whole cast situation is going to make it very difficult to maintain the same level as before.

I think I'll wait to see if this one wraps up all the cliffhangers. I didn't watch season one because everyone was saying how great it COULD have been, but it leaves you disappointed.
