Popular idol-seiyuu Inoue Marina, famous for numerous roles, such as Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann and Alicia from Senjou no Valkryia, seems also to have another side to her.
She can draw.
She may be reminiscent of another artistically inclined idol, but her illustrations are far more classy; it may also come as a relief to some to learn that she does not inlude guro art in her portfolio.

It's actually a damn good idea for idols to cultivate a second talent like this. While her looks will (sadly) eventually fade, her artistic ability will only grow as she gains experience. It'll give her something to fall back on.

Not only does draw, and model, she sings and acts. Some people get all of this talent, and I'm still trying to figure out mine.
All you need is training. Granted, natural talent saves a lot of time, but a person who trains continuously can become quite formidable. A person with both training and natural talent will be even better but by no means do you absolutely require natural talent to do something well.
My advice is to do what you enjoy. If you don't have the money and resources to do it from the get-go, then train/learn/attend school in it in the times when not working your day job. Also know that you will most likely be in a fight to do whatever you enjoy, especially if it something with a lot of competition like any art industry job.
Yeah, go to school, get education, learn something. Even yours trully, Mr President of USA still get coaches to improve their public appearence. Its mean that even you are sitting on the number 1 seat you still got to learn to improve something.

This is why you have cameras. You've probably seen Muybridge's photo sequences of moving animals of an example of what was done more than a century ago. Same idea as now. Also why you have books like the Animator's Survival Kit (hell they even made a DVD version). There's a ton of resources out there to be used where previous animators have traveled before.
