A man arrested for the attempted rape of a schoolgirl has confessed to violating 70 other girls.
The 29-year-old construction worker was finally arrested after he outraged an 18-year-old high school student in a park a year prior, threatening her “If you make a fuss, you’re dead!”
Police finally caught the man almost exactly a year later, matching his DNA to that present in bodily fluids found at the scene.
However, on arrest police were to hear a shocking confession: he explained that “For the past 5 years I’ve done about 70 girls, mostly in middle and high school.”
Police have set about corroborating his confession.
To what extent the case which precipitated his arrest was actually attempted, rather than “actual”, is not clear, but it seems he went far enough to leave the crucial evidence at the scene.

Because if its true, apperently very few japanese girls acualy report being raped. Hence the low rape rate in Japan. Though the article doenst say anything about unreported rapes, I would not be suprised in the least, if there were numurous cases going unreported. Japan has a population a third that of the US, but even so the kind of crime which would barely make regional news in the USA can easily become national fare in Japan, simply because the country is so safe.

You could look at it like, it's sort of like a variation of 'go about' as in, 'go about your business.' Once you've "gone about" your business, it becomes a thing of the past. Therefore you have "done about" it.
Because we already know what he has done, Artefact had no need to mention what the action specifically was, and so it was omitted and "done about" was the end result.
Now though, I realize it could be a typo (done about --> gone about). And because Chris didn't point out exactly what the problem was, I give him no credit to it if this is the case :)

It is quite possible that he didn't go far enough with the other girls to leave "crucial" evidence, also possible that some did not report it.
The Japanese have a very strong aversion to creating or being in conflict so I wouldn't be surprised if rape is very underreported in Japan.

Rape is one of the most unreported crimes in many countries. The actual numbers of every country's sexual assault statistics are probably higher. Although, i don't know if the actual percentages would go up in the same amounts with different countries if they were accurate.
Still, even if rape goes unreported more in japan, it wouldn't account for such a difference in percentage with countries like America and the UK

About IQ, saying most women are around 50 in America doesn't make much sense - if anything, they're average. Women's IQs are more likely to be around average then men's, while the latter are more likely to have very low or very high IQ.
Very low and very high IQ are still quite rare but even more so for women. I think 50 would be in the order of 1/1000 people? 1/10000? I can't remember the bell curve that well lol.
Actually, IQ is a set number based on averages and it changes if the averages change. 50% of test-takers will have an IQ under 100, ~12% under one std deviation (15 points, so under 85). That's a set number, like getting graded on a curve.

Those two statistics would be contradictory except that "up to 60%" is vague. If it had said "60% are falsely reported" then the two would be contradictory for sure, as it would mean that some rapes were simultaneously unreported and falsely reported, which is impossible.

According to my experience and the collective experience of group support for now-adult victims of child-rape, if a kid is emotionally extorted or disturbed they won't talk.
