I sincerely hope security is of the utmost importance surrounding this project since every new gundam prototype has been or will be stolen by meddlin' kids/principalities/adjacent space colony!

You know the drill! We all know the day its launched, some pissed off mercenaries will attempt to steal it, but the actions of some random kid will wake the gundam up and fend them off miraculously whilst leaving destruction in its wake.

I never followed the Gundam series, but I'm guessing, what, they didn't have decent security on the thing, that even a kid could steal it?

But, I suppose that's a bit of tradition with military equipment.

A few years ago some guy stole a tank in Southern California, started driving it around, smashing up the neighborhood. The military guys caught up to it, opened the top hatch, and dropped in a grenade... end of problem.

They never dropped a grenade, some cop shot him when he crashed in the highway and broke a thread on the tank, getting stuck long enough for them to climb up the tank and shoot him. And the guy pretty much forced the hatch open with a God damn crowbar, his name was Shawn Nelson, quite the interesting nutjob if you ask me.
