I can appreciate how well he captures some of the flesh tones and color in his works. He's got a very good idea for depth and making color layers work. Unfortunately the reference photo he emulates can't make up for some of his basic anatomy issues.
Sometimes in pictures you need to 'fix' what it really looks like, since oddly enough it looks unrealistic. In his case, he doesn't do that and it screws with his anatomy.
Mind you, it's still pretty damn good regardless.
