That settles it. I'm picking this anime up.
I'll be perfectly honest, I'm just watching it for the Nodoka and Saki yuri undertones.
I have no clue what's so impressive about Saki's super luck skills in mahjong...or any clue how any of the moves they pull off are so jaw droppingly awesome.
Oh, I also watch it for the Taco loli, she's kind of cute.

That's how it is pretty much, there's something missing in this series regarding Mahjong. This is especially true if you watched Akagi.
Right, especially because the writers can easily manipulate luck at will, the mahjong games feel contrived. They also move too fast to follow the action well, IMO.
Of course, Nodoka X Saki may be the most awesome plausible pairing of the season, Mugi X Sawako the second, and Ritsu X Mio the third. No word on a Yui X Azusa...yet.

Eh...I never bought into the anime. It looks too 'kiddy style' for me (Like "Wandubba Style")- I usually like a Pink Haired leading lady too.
I'd rather rather watch the one about the girl who lives in a Soda Can (Akikan) than this.

Moe Akagi? They need to do more than that to sell it for me.
Akagi > Saki any day, only fan service will keep this one alive, don't expect much in terms of Mahjong to keep you interested.
